Glad you got it to work!!!

You'll be fine just follow your mates

Appreciate your confidence.  Sometimes my mind doesn't work quite as well as theirs does unfortunately.  But, being hard headed the way I am (ask my bride of the past 52 yrs), I just keep on trying "stuff" until I screw something up (fairly frequently) or fix it (seldom).  Anyhow, thanks for your thoughts and your efforts.  I'm sure I speak for everyone else here - we greatly appreciate your efforts.

A man after my own heart and prbably of the same number of years Ol Navy. What country are you, I am UK. I was also in the Royal Navy. ;D

Hi

I had finally a opportunity to fly this delightful campaign, well done Kevin!  :)

My experience and impressions of the campaign:

I started to merge the Jagdstaffel 5 campaign with the Jasta 5 part 2 and 3, to get one long 46 mission campaign. The first 8-9 missions was with the initial version, since I hadn't noticed the update, so I encountered some problems that might have been fixed in the update.
The campaign have excellent briefings with date, time and suitable info for the mission and sometimes historic background. Every mission also showed the name of the pilots participating in the mission, which I think is a nice touch.
The type of missions is nice mix that makes the campaign enjoyable and they seemed plausible and made it quite immersive IMHO.
It was my first campaign without any way points, so I simply followed my flight around. Nice idea Kevin!

Mission 3: Mission didn't get properly saved for some reason unknown to me. I had to re-fly it and after clicking "Apply", immediately fly the next mission. If I went to Main menu instead and came back later the mission was not saved. I can't remember ever having had this problem before and what might cause this behavior.
Mission 4 & 14: These are scramble mission with lot of planes in it. They turned out to be a disaster for the Jagdstaffel with almost the entire staffel wiped out.
Mission 9: In this mission you are escorting a Zeppelin heading North to bomb London. My mission turned out somewhat strange when the Zeppelin reached the edge of the map and just stayed there. Wouldn't the C&C DZ object be a good option in this case so the Zeppelin simply disappears?
Mission 13 & 17: Balloon Busting, the flak around the balloons are quite deadly and since you are ordered to destroy all four balloons those two missions are suicidal missions IMHO. I didn't obey my orders and only destroyed two balloons...
Mission 15 & 16: No enemy encounter, perhaps intentional?
Mission 18: This was the only mission I had low frame rate. On the way back to base it was impossible to use accelerated time 2x because of low frame rate.
Mission 20: This mission didn't get properly saved, I tried several times in vain. So I couldn't go on with my long campaign as intended. Will start part 2 as a new campaign instead.
Update: I found the problem!
It was a problem in the Jaste 5 part 2 campaign as described here:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,56847.msg645145.html#msg645145

Other observations not connected to the campaign itself:
I've seen some strange AI behavior usually short after takeoff. Sometimes the AI's crashes with each other and sometimes they make steep dives without any apparent reason and crashes to the ground.
The C&C artillery barrage give a good ground war action and WWI atmosphere.
The C&C box barrage is perhaps a bit to intense for WWI flak conditions. Some of the C&C features can be fine tuned in the Mods section, but perhaps not this one?
Caudron had Italian markings on the skins AFAICR.

The Nieuport 28C1 shoved a strange spinning solid disc prop on my AMD video card, but I was able to solve that problem myself, check the thread here:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,58503.0.html

I've posted some Menu Music that suits this campaign, check the thread here:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,58504.0.html

Many thanks for the Jagdstaffel 5 Campaign, Kevin  :) I'm now eager to continue with part 2 and 3 now!

Best regards

Thank you for this, yes it does help.  I'll try to address the missions;
Mission #3 - Unknown what would cause this.
Mission 4&14 - Yes it is truly a scramble... I tested these over and over trying to get the majority of the Staffel airborne.  While some of the time there were collisions most of the aircraft did get up. Ensure you takeoff last in these missions.
Mission #9 - I should have used the DZ on the Zeppelin, you should have been jumped by enemy aircraft.... hmmmm
Mission 13&17 - Yeah the flak is a bear :) I have found diving on the balloons seem to work better then climb again to make the next approach zig zagging to the target.

Mission 4&14: I usually restart the mission when the AI crash or collides at mission start and I always start last if the briefing doesn't tell me otherwise. The casualties in these missions were done by the enemies during dogfight AFAIK.
Mission 9: Enemies showed up and the rest of my flight attacked them, but I stayed protecting the Zeppelin since there were a BE2c flight approaching.
Mission 13&17: I'll try diving on the balloons in the next attack balloon missions. Thanks for the tip!  :)
