Fallschirmjäger Abwurfbehälter - parachute containers
« on: April 26, 2017, 03:03:26 PM »

Just a simple request, the FJ troops canister. It s known that Fj doesn t jump full equiped. The only weapon carried was a luger, the rest of equipment was droped in these canisters. So, would be nice to have them as a load option in Ju-52 and He 111.
The data about markings it s very poor, it seem that the canisters marks changed with the operations.
Some pics:

Several more pictures and blueprints:

MOre data about cargo and units:

Thanks in advance.

Some mods of the Junkers Ju-52 have boxes to drop by parachute. They can be viewed from the outside looking into
the airplane through the side windows.- Just like the paratroopers can also be viewed sitting down on both sides of
the Junkers 52,  if you choose to use them in the selection menu.

The skins for these long shaped boxes are in normal wood colors.
These Box "skins"  can be re-painted to look like anything else if you wish....
.....Including these metal type Luftwaffe containers. They came in a variety of colors.

yes Max. https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,24990.0.html
You re right, but I don´t know how to "open" the cargo file skin. I could re skin it, but the ideal situation its a new 3d model and that added cargo to the loadout.Anyway, if any clue on opening the file please, let me know.

When I downloaded the Junkers-52 Family upgrades a few years ago I also did many changes to the entire skins and some files for it.
I have those files and so can you. Just download the same package available here. The skins are in TGA (Targa) format and you
may be able to re-paint them using GIMP or Photoshop.

When you download the 3 Junkers 52 family pack, You will find the skins inside the folder .... \3do\Plane\Ju-52_3mg3e
It is named "ordnance".

My version looks like this.... in this size. No alpha-channel transparency.

Making a new box is totally different. It also involves changing many mod-airplane files to include the new addition. Extra work.  :P
If there is a modeling artist kind enough to do an entirely new box model, that is up to them.
I am unable to create a new box and at the moment I am done making any more changes to these Junkers 52. My versions
are perfect as they are now. If no one wants to use my upgrades, then there is nothing I can do. I already shared and posted
what I use for my own personal game.

Max if you could you make nice bitmaps for these meshes I'm posting here - I'll finish their java and you'll got them in game
https://www.mediafire.com/file/4j71jhlheycxpww/Behalter.7z
You'll find inside a typical Waffenabwurfbehälter, as it appears in the photos above (the differences between the various models were mainly internal, or in the construction material - wood or metal) and a Mischlast Abwurfbehälter 250 much more used to drop supplies

OK, I will try my best to make it. You are a great creator of models DreamK.

What it is a Mischlast Abwurfbehälter ?  I cannot even pronounce it.  :P
Is it a container to put Sauerkraut?  :D
I love sauerkraut with a hot dog sandwich and New York city style mustard.

Germans distinguished between 2 kinds of supply containers according to their intended contents:
1) Fahrbarer Abwurfbehälter ohne Einbauten ("mobile equipment container without special fittings") for weapons and equipment, were these boxes with a  shock absorber used by paratroopers.
2) Mischlastabwurfbehälter or Mischlastbehälter ("mixed load containers" often called "Versorgungsbombe" - "food bombs") for food, water, fuel and such, had  this general look of an aerial bomb.
The Mischlastabwurfbehälter could be of 250kg or 1000kg and as a matter of fact SB1000 bombs and LMB mines bodies were sometimes used as supplies container, with supplies filling the cavity usually occupied by the explosive.

The metal containers were at least four types, one type without wheels that decomposed the most recently used on Creta, the other three were made of castors for better handling, varying in length according to the content, then there were those made of wood and they served as a supply
And the Ju-52 was carrying just 4 containers for the parachutist team

How do you get the different color chutes?
