Hello-
Yes, it is beautiful, but I'm having some trouble... It installed fine, no crashes, everything seems fine right until you open up the throttle to start your takeoff roll... as soon as you pull back on the stick, it wants to snap roll to the left. Pushing the stick forward, it wants to snap roll to the right- so severely that I can't get it off the ground. If I start a quick mission in the air, the same thing, although the controls do seem to work otherwise...

Nice looking plane, though... any suggestions?

I suggest turning off the "Torque and Gyro Effect" in Difficulty setting. I have never been able to control any plane on take off
with that setting on.
So, on take-off use a light stick between 160-180 with just a little right aileron to keep it level. It has a little left torque even with
the torque setting off.
As suggestion-not much-but try it.

Thanks, Mike- worked like a charm... she behaves pretty nicely now...

Now if I can just get it to see its skins folder! I've named it 'FokkerDXVII', 'Fokker_DXVII', 'Fokker-DXVII', even 'FokkerCX' with no luck... This is in DBW1.71... I have to be forgetting something! This isn't my first rodeo, but I'm getting thrown anyway!

Thanks again- M. Z.

Well, I was afraid someone would point out the obvious... but I understand, if a lot of people seem to have this issue...

Unfortunately, that isn't the problem. The reason I tried out all those folder names is because 'FokkerDXVII' isn't working. With that folder name, I still don't get my skin options (yes, there are skins in the folder...).

Anything else? Not being any sort of coding expert, I suspected perhaps there might be some sort of typo buried in the aircraft's code, considering it's a 'frankenplane'...

Cheers, M. Z.

In trying to figure out your problem, MZ, I downloaded (from this thread) and re-installed the DXVII. With the downloaded Skin folder "Fokker_DXVII" I did recreate your problem. I changed Skin folder  "Fokker_DXVII"  to  FokkerDXVII  and everything works fine.
As you say "Not first rodeo" but, did you check proper placement of folder in Skins folder?  I have "screwed up" that one on several occasions.

Hello, Mike- I'm squared away now...
Because I was not having major trouble with the game (crashes, etc.), I hadn't looked at my logfile... when I finally did, there it was... The game was not loading the skins because they "were in the wrong format"- which seems to be the game's way of telling me I needed the HD skins mod... I never did install that mod into my old DBW install. Once done, all the skins were available...
Thanks for the plane, and your patience... good thing I don't have much hair on top of my head, or I would have pulled it out!

Thanks again!    -M.Z.
