Re Playing iL2 1946 Tracks
« on: January 02, 2017, 12:14:31 AM »

After playing back a track, the outcome is different. How does that happen? Is there a way to correct it? Example i recorded a quick mission and later landed. After replaying the track, my plane crashed after bombing an airfield, that i had flown successfully before saving the track.

Im using modcat 5.3. No other game issues.

There are two known reasons for this kind of issue:
  • The track has been saved after your sortie.
This creates an old style "TRK" track of the mission.
This type of tracks is known to be incompatible with many aspects of IL-2 1946 game versions past patch version 4.09.
To circumvent this issue, use the "Quick Start/Save Track" hotkey while the mission is running to start recording your track (and to stop it, if you want to stop before mission ends, where otherwise the track would stop automatically).

  • A mod which isn't online compatible.
Recording tracks with "Quick Start/Save Track" hotkey basically records to disk what would otherwise have been transferred to other clients and/or the server over the net.
There are some mods which have not been equipped with net code yet, most notably newer (supersonic) jets but also certain effects mods.
If you have such mods installed and use them while you're recording an "NTRK" file, history will reinvent itself on playback since what you see when you fly the mission isn't what's being recorded on the track.

Best regards - Mike

I admit that I always found it a bit annoying...is there any chance that it can be modified so the track can be saved in ntrk AFTER our sorties?[/list]
