Regarding SAS site and CUP and VP-modpack
« on: September 30, 2016, 02:50:21 AM »

Never in the history of ww2 flightsim modding was so much owed by so many to so few.

Im not a frequent poster and I tried to resist but these modpacks just forced my hands. I am only a few weeks into these modpacks and each time I become more and more impressed and Grateful.

Thank you SAS for all you have done for so many years now.

Indeed. Couldn't agree more. There are a handful of pc flightsims originally released late 90's early 00's that are just so good that they are built upon, adopted by the community, modded and improved. IL-2 is one... others would be
Falcon 4, EF2000,European Air War, Comache v Hokum, Strike Fighters 2 . But in the WW2 bracket nothing comes close to IL-2 in terms of attention to detail and scope. A full, everything maxxed  install of CUP is a unique thing. I am planning to buy a 3 monitor, Track-IR, chair, stick pedals full beast setup just for IL-2 CUP and Falcon BMS 4.33. Why the hell not? Live on my won, no kids..

And to add few more thoughts, these guys and gals are an unbelivable bunch of helpful group! Nearly every hickup, bug or issue is scrutinced, broken down remade and solved to the benefit of us hamfisted simulator "pilots". We, the beneficials have only this way to show our gratitude to the modders so keep thankig them ´cause I think they will thrive on it and try to keep on keeping us happy!

I also agree 100% ! THANK YOU to ALL the cool mod-Artists!
Without them, our dreams would never had come true.

All I can do in return to pay back is to also do a little modding , some little fixes and texture painting this
game for all of us to enjoy it better.
The fun part of this game is not only flying in it and creating missions , but also to mod it and making it work.
It is the fun and the challenge of making some thing work.

Long live the IL2-1946+Mods !
It still has many years of great fun in it for everyone!

Saw this just a while ago.
It made my day.
I remember all those years ago just before IL-2 was released Oleg put up a video teaser
and it just knocked my socks off.
Far be it for me to ever realize what would ever happen to this great sim over the years.
We are all so very fortunate.
