Newer Vampire?
« on: June 12, 2016, 04:35:28 PM »

Greetings - I wanted to add the Vampire FB5 to my WAW so I added this one   http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,43476.0.html   but it has the old P-80 cockpit. the one in Jet War has it's own cockpit - I was wondering if there is a link to that version or it's cockpit as a stand alone mod - thanx..

The Vampire a bit late for WAW, and don't forget, WAW already has a ton of stuff in there.  WAW is not a stock install.

The Vampire is featured in JTW - The Jet Age, where there are a number of cockpits to choose from.  For early Suez, Middle East scenarios there are also many Postwar Props included in JTW, which is why it is perfectly at home there.

In fact:  The Vampire mod does use a variation of the P80 Cockpit.  The improved Vampire Cockpit, used in JTW, is part of the JTW install and not the Vampire mod as released.  It would be possible to make the cockpit available for WAW, probably using JSGME.

I'm sure the Vampire, with the better cockpit, could be 'shoehorned' into WAW if you really want to.  But I would like to hear some more compelling reasons to do so.

Well, it did fly in 1943 and I think there may have been a training squadron active in late 1945 and actual service was ((1946?)). I think it would be a nice enemy for the HG.5.  I for one would like to see it in WaW along with the old Breda ((Ba65 and it's ilk)) planes in TGA Module moved to WaW as well.
