I add in the first post the new URL for download with the SSP

Gio.

Thank you Gio, my link has now been removed to avoid confusion. ;)

Unfortunately the updated readme did not make it into your link so here it is:

Code: [Select]
Caudron G IV and VI WIP.

3D model: gio963tto.

Default skin: Stalker

Slot and static: Mission_bug.

Currently working in DBW 1.71, DBW 1916 and TD 4.12 with SAS ModAct 5.30.

Current WIP now has working controls and instruments, cockpit class from the stock Mosquito and the working gauges use that java and are orientated for the DOSKA.MSH which is hidden.

Currently working are Throttles port and starboard, clock, RPM gauges port and starboard and compass all reorientated to work with the DOSKA.MSH.

All orientations might need further adjustment.

RPM needles and clock fingers from the Mosquito.

Compass is that from the Albatross DIII, re-orientated, renamed and enlarged to fit the Caudron.

The throttle levers are as good as I can get them and use the existing 3D modified, re-orientated and renamed.

Generator on the G-VI is working using TB-3 java and naming for the moving parts.

FM uses the fmd file from the Farmans with slight alterations and the WWI engin emd.

Slot is set for 'TypeFighter, TypeSturmovik'.

Bomb rack is from the original model but is now set to appear if a bomb option is enable in the arming screen.

Add the folder 'Caudron_G_IV-G_VI' and if you want the statics 'PS_Caudron_G_IV_SSP'and 'PS_Caudron_G_VI_SSP' to your Mod/SAS folder and add the necessary entries.

Add to air.ini:

Caudron_G_IV        air.Caudron_G_IV    2                 NOINFO  f01 SUMMER
Caudron_G_VI        air.Caudron_G_VI    2                 NOINFO  f01 SUMMER

Note:  If you do not already have a section for SSP you will need to add each title, if
you do have one just add the aircraft lines.

It is important to me that the users find credits to anything I have used for the mod that was not my own.

Take care.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Enjoy the Caudron David !

Gio has given the Caudron a extremely capable FM...... 8)

Nearest analogy I can think of is a P-38 with a nose gunner  :P

Cheers

Yes, it's good against Eindeckers that try to intercept it on bombing missions. I opened a previous Kampf Einsitzer campaign, and changed it to a bombing campaign. Another previous campaign on the Italy Africa map [Salonika] shows promise too. Here, I'll add the G VI as an escort.

cheers

The Caudron G4 had an acceptable ratio against the EIII, around 1.5 Caudron G4 lost for 1 Fokker.
Some french aces scored their first kill with G4 (Fonck)
It was even used as a long range escort for Voisins, but things were not that good :)
The Caudron G6 had a more difficult careed (The R4 was much better).
But at the time of the G6, the Albatros DIII was around

Hello guys, <Gunny> reported a 30% CTD yesterday on loading from QMB in his 4.12 with ModAct 5.30 install,
I checked mine and found the same issue as his. o_O

Thank you very much for the report <Gunny>, really appreciated. 8)

For any of you experiencing the same problem please try these updated class files and report back:

https://www.mediafire.com/file/v6rp4wjhxj12zwq/Update%20classes%20for%20Caudron%20G_IV-G_VI.zip

I try to make all the aircraft I make  independent of others in the game, if I use classes from something I name them for my mod, that was the case here, however, recent code changes by our coding gurus sometimes break things for older mods, in this case deactivating the line 'AircraftLH.printCompassHeading = true;' from the 4.10 original class files has worked for me.  This line of code is proving to be a major annoyance, not sure why.

I usually use 4.10 for the WWI stuff because most want it in their DBW 1916 and just add whatever changes might be necessary for 4.12, in this case there was no need originally to alter anything specifically as usually the WWI types are okay in 4.12.

Please do not add these to anything other than 4.12 with ModAct 5.30 and please back up what you have first just in case
my fix causes further issues.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D
