DCG and Pink Aircraft issues

I just ran across is this issue I have heard for a while: Aircraft that do not have weapons.properties file entries in IL-2 are rendered useless to DCG as AI aircraft if anything other than the "default" armament is to be used in a campaign. It is standard that at the start of the mission the "user's" units aircraft will explode and all other aircraft on the ground. In cycling through the remaining units (SHFT - F1/F2), a "pink" aircraft will be found crashed. This has been well documented as a case where the weapons selected in DCG (payloads.dcg or allpayloads.dcg file) is not in the game for that particular aircraft or multiple aircraft.

This case involves the Typhoon Mk.Ia, 1941. This is an issue where the entry in the payload.dcg has a "default" weapon of 12x.303 but in the game it's "Default" - yes it's case sensitive. o_O

So if anyone that is using my CUP payload.dcg file and notices this issue when a "default" weapon load-out is being used - let me know. Thanks

All these have Default instead of default.
Unfortunately, there are many such anomalies in the class files, e.g. None , or Empty, or empty instead of none, etc. The 'none' option is sometimes completely missing, and there are loadout designations which are not even usable in weapons.properties.

If in doubt, use my full weapons.properties for reference.

It's exhausting! Frankly if modders are going to continue to use short cuts - DCG will be harder and harder to update.

No, if I finish this thingy I'm working on, DCG will be quite easy to update. DCG will import crucial game data such as plane and loadout designations. No more fuss with underscores and dashes.

The real problem is that some modders haven't followed the established naming conventions. There are some 50 problematic planes out of the 1000 total. That's only 5%, and the problem could be comfortably fixed if someone took the pain to revise those 50 files. I can tell him what exactly to look for. There would be one backdrop, however: FMB missions for/with those planes, created before the patch, would be broken as they use None, or Empty, or empty instead of none, etc, etc.

Here's a full list of naming irregularities in WAW #20. Be careful with these planes/loadouts. Some planes do not have default or none configurations (marked +), others have unconventional ones (marked ~). It's better to avoid them for the moment.

Moezilla and me are working on a DCG compatibility mod for WAW, which would hopefully settle all these issues (Default > default, Empty > none, etc). It would be great if you could beta-test it before release.

Sniperton, did anything ever come of this? Just thought I would ask as I have just done a complete install of BAT and have what you describe, Pink Aircraft, Missing cockpits and some skins wrapped round aircraft instead of being layed on them....Im  trying to correct these things one at a time, and a pink aircraft was top of the list.
