I fixed most of the problems with dgen. Install the patch from the first post, it has the latest version of dgen files.

sorry to bother you again, but I have a last question: I already installed patches 3+4 months ago "over" the Dgen that you suggested to me here: (http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,50919.msg597549.html#msg597549);

so is it already ok or I should install the patch from post 1 (PATCHES http://www.mediafire.com/file/y1mwh136mger4d8/vp_modpack_patch.7z (both patches in one 7z file, 1.63GB)) over my installation ?

Is there a way to add engine WEP flames to all aircraft? I've noticed that YAKs for example don't have those effects.

Hey VP team,

I am having an issue with selecting certain Pilot Career missions. I Don't have any added Campaign missions, just the ones that come with VP Modpack. What is happening is that when I select a certain campaign I will either get a single Beep when I click to generate the career and for others when I click the button to generate it doesn't give me a beep, but it returns me to the main menu. I know it has something to do with the DGen, but I can't seem to find it. Should I go ahead and get something like EnjoyrPatch 5.2 or something of that nature. I am using the latest patch for VP Modpack. If anyone knows a solution to this it would be awesome.

There's no team, just me.

Which campaign are problematic? In theory every campaign should generate, it was tested a while ago.

Please also post you DgenError.log.

It is quite a few missions that are failing to generate Mostly the RAF/USAAF Channel Missions and subsequent GB/USAAF Missions Missions. There would be a lot of DGenError logs to post with how many there are. A couple of  examples are Burma43 (First) and the second is FB_channel41. I am also including a Pastebin of another DGenErrorLOG which is for Normandy_DDay since this seems to be a longer Error log. It appears that a lot of them are either with the squadron (Even though I choose a different squadron and it still doesn't work) or with the Mapname or Finding said town/map.

It's weird because you seem to have DGen 4.0.0.9 (01/05/05), this previous report I've found (https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,50919.msg597392/topicseen.html#msg597392) seem to have DGen 4.0.8.6 (17/04/08). Dunno where this difference comes from, since only the base pack has a dgen.exe, the patch does not.

iirc the WEP flames are added by the Fly By mod of DaveB.

The only other change I have made is removing #SAS\!!00_0_FXEvolution_v4.12 and !CTO_Modact5 so I can use my toe brakes since these two were causing me to crash when using Engine Mod 2.8.5w. I'll try to replace my DGen folder from the original pack and patch again and I'll let you know

iirc the WEP flames are added by the Fly By mod of DaveB.

I've not looked into that effect mod contents and java classfiles,
but once I was asked from someone as VP modpack's WEP flames are buggy ..... not only Yak, some air-cooled radial engine aircrafts or liquid-cooled V12 engine aircrafts don't show full flames for each exhaust pipes ..... like only left side flames are drawn or no flames drawn about specific types.

Only about WEP flames , I'm sure Engine mod 2.8.5w's Full throttle flame variant is bug free.

Hi VPmedia, I am enjoying you modpack.

One question, if I can: I would like to use "bombsight assist mod" (Unofficial PAL HUD Config with BombSight Assist: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,58010.0.html) and I ask you if you already know if it works with your modpack or not (if yes, where in the #SAS should I place it in priority ?).

I ask you because in the first post of that thread it says "This mod may not work if you have other HUD mods installed. This is the case of VP Modpack... I do not say it won't work, but be warned that VP Modpack comes with its own Hud modifications...."

I do not remember changing anything on the speedbar. If you saw a screen with different speedbar, it was the PAL Visual Mod v9 (not included).
thank you very much, I thought it was included in VP pack

I just noticed this post. I have Visual Mod 9 in my VP-Modpack and I thought it was included by default but I was wrong it seems.

@blackshark, install either PAL Visual Mod v9 OR the standalone PAL HUD Config. They both will work fine in VP-Modpack. Top priority is always wise but they can go anywhere.

In the two years that this mod has been used no one has come forward with complaints that the WEP flames are buggy. I tested this in a clean vpmedia's modpack. They were already written in Tiger33's UV3soundmod classes.  The only change I have made is in my v2.0 where the percentage of throttle is,  before they appear,  transitioning from orange to blue.

If someone has buggy WEP effect then suffice to say it's their doing by adding or changing files/mods to their game or adding my mod to a different modpack.

Now I did find a bug in my startup flame effect in the v2.0 of my mod which I hope has been fixed. Now all engines both player and AI should show the effect.
V2.0 links have been updated to reflect this bugfix.

For your knowledge both WEP and start effects are reliant on hooks written in the planes model files, so if the hooks are not there or their position is not correct then it has nothing to do with my mod

PS: While I still have some interest in doing this it might be nice to be given a chance to fix so called bugs instead of suggesting another bug free mod
