Thanks VP for what is a great Mod.

When I start the game up, the splash screen is 4.12.2m. no other changes.

Fresh install of game, patch & skins installed and I keep getting the 4.12.2m startup. No extra maps, aircraft ect.  I followed the video and made changes to conf.ini.

Perhaps it is my onboard intel gpu? But why would 4.12.2 start?

Thanks

Any idea why my game crashes ever since i installed VP Modpack. Everytime i fire guns in any plane especially turrets it crashes the game and leads me back to the desktop background.

You forgot to add conf.ini entries.

I may look silly here, but I post this for those who might make my mistake.

I was extracting VP into my fresh IL-2 folder.  That did not work.  When I made a vp folder, extracted vp-modpack  into that, and then copied pasted il-2 fresh into the VP folder, it runs.  Which is just as in the video ? Now when I did that, a box came up warning that there where a number of files with the same name.  Did I want to replace them?  Had no idea. But chose NO as I thought that the files already in the folder would be the VP ones.  Perhaps that was wrong?

What is weird is that when I extracted the patch,  the patch ended up in its own folder called vp_modpack_patch, and skins vp_modpack_paintSchemes.

Extraction procedure was right click on the zipped patch file
Extract file to
the vp-modpack folder.

Did that, but, do not think it worked.

In the overall folder, there are a number of fb_3do08.SFS(example) and maps fb_maps06.SFS

It is almost like the files did not know where to go?  Extracting the patch should have caused it to overwrite/patch things not make a folder? Skins should have installed in skins etc?  I used 7-zip.

Wonder if it is my system?

hello VP... I'm reinstalling your great modpack (my previous is bugged and I don't find why) and I jave two questions :
- Are all the patches in the big file ? (I remember that there was around 15 of them and four new patches more)
- Is it possible to add fred's dewoitine520 in your modpack? (I've tried but I can't find a way)
And once more, thanks for this pack...

You only need the one patch file from the first post.
I use Ranswers D.520, that works fine.

Okay, I wasn't sure...thanks... I prefer Fred's dewoitine (the cockpit is just one of the best and the whole plane is great - even easier to skin)
take care

What you can always do is to check the logfile. Maybe just some simple texture is missing. You can also use the classcheck.exe to find classfile conflicts which you can resolve by changing the load order or deactivating the mod with same classfile names.

Here's a mod I tried integrating into my VP ModPack installation, but I start up the game and freezes at 50%, so I stop the program with Task Manager.

So I tried deleting its classfiles and it loaded up to 70% until it crashed to Desktop.

I tested that mod and it works fine, no freeze or crash.

Strange that it doesn't for me though..

Did you change the file's name in your #SAS folder? Maybe renaming it with !!_ or 00_ might do effect?

There are no classfile conflicts, so it does not matter what you call the folder. This does not mean that in your install there aren't any conflicts, but I can only check my game. Try to use the classcheck.exe.

I'll try doing a classfile check later and give you the doublon.txt file so you can give it a look.
