Romanian Farmans
« on: February 22, 2016, 03:53:21 AM »

Here are several Romanian Farman F.40s as flown by the Romanians during 1916-1919.  As always, I've used one of Stalker's excellent templates. The tricolor shield aircraft is taken from art work depicting a Farman of Esc. 5 shooting down a German Eindecker. The second aircraft carries an image of Prince Michael the Brave on the fuselage nose. The third aircraft carries Romanian rudder flash with french roundels which from what I've read was not an unusual practice on Romanian operated French aircraft, particularly in 1916 and appears to be supported by one BW photo I saw of a nosed over Romanian Farman.

Thank Dona for her beautiful work that reminds us of a forgotten region where Romanians, Bulgarians, Russians, French, Serbs, Turks and Greeks, they fought fiercely in WWI, with sudden turns tide time in favor of entente, time for the central powers .

Just the thing for a Romanian campaign I'm working on. Thanks for making it.
