Ai Sky Raiders will not leave carrier ~ SOLVED
« on: February 15, 2016, 11:59:28 PM »

If this is the wrong place to post this would someone point me to the correct place.

I am working on a Korean mission using Ai Skyraiders and Corsairs off the Boxer cv.
The Corsairs fly from the catapult  fine while the Skyraiders jump to the cat they simply sit there engines revving.
I have tried a carrier without catapult but again they simply unfold their wings and sit there.
All other aircraft I have tried use the cat fine even the Stinson?
I am up to date with C.U.P. and using the “Jet Age”
Could this be a problem with the Douglas SkyRaiders?
They were widely used in Korea.
thanks,
Ibis.

I've been reported the same problem , not only C.U.P. inside version, but single MOD version released in SAS.
Skyraider AI doesn't use carrier catapults.

It may come from a bug in Skyraider's own classfile Java program code.
But I have no spare time to look into it by myself. And today I don't have necessity to fix it for me.

If some modders making aircrafts' Java codes take interest in Skyraider, he will ....

Thanks Western for your prompt reply.
I have found that other problems are revealed as well once in game
as all aircraft get the message "please wait till deck is clear" so something is wrong,
maybe it's my install. Will check log file.
 Thanks again.

Just to add my 2 bob. I checked out the Skyraiders in TFM412 and the ai do not launch off the cat in that version.

Both TFM and C.U.P. only compose single aircraft MODs "as is" without retouching.

Skyraiders' not using catapult bug comes from single MOD time.
No one found it in that time, no one requested to fix it, no modder has tried to fix it.
Fixing it is modder's task, normal players cannot reach it.

1st.... fixing single Skyraiders MOD.
after enough testing..... and OK ?
2nd.... repacking them into C.U.P.

Ibis and Western, are you talking about my adapted Skyhawks? The ones in CUP? I have run several missions with them launching from several carriers and they have taken off without any trouble.

As far as I know there isn't any particular thing inside any plane code which avoids from being pushed by the catapults of the Engine MOD.

  Thanks Western,
I am now chasing other problems because while other aircraft work fine
in full mission builder I get the  "Please wait till deck is clear"  message when in game.
 Still searching for solution.
  cheers,
    Ibis.

No. No.
AD-4 or A-1 Skyraider.
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,7057.0.html

It was an old MOD, its internal Java codes might conflict today's carrier catapult codes.

When you face the message problem, do some Skyraiders line-up in front of you or other AI aircrafts?
If so.... taking-off is done from front aircrafts , and later aircrafts have to wait their finishing taking-off, so Skyraiders' not to take-off bug makes it.
If not .... it comes from another problem or bug.

Oh, sorry, I read it too fast!

Ibis, I was referring to the Skyhawks, but the comment was about the Skyraiders.

Forget my post please...
