I have noticed that some airfields are bumpy like the normal ground. This makes taking off and landing virtually impossible and severely interferes with the enjoyment of those maps. This seems to apply to Oknevas's Estonia and to Uzin's maps (except Poland '44). It may apply to others but I have not searched further. From what I have read the problem seems to arise from using Zuti's friction mod in the map for the airfields instead of airfield plates. In another thread,( http://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,46011.0.html,) Uzin suggests doing your own repairs by putting in your own plates which is apparently now much easier than it used to be. The problem is that to repair all the airfields on the affected maps is a huge job - you are talking 150 to 200 airfields I would guess. In his Belarus download Uzin includes two versions of Zuti's mod and I have tried putting them in CUP but they just cause a crash. Does anyone have an answer to this problem? Can the Zuti mod be put into CUP in some form or is there some other way to get round this problem short of a major airfield plate operation?

Btw, that Estonia comes from me, nevertheless, its ascribing to the master Oknevas by C.U.P. creators is great honour to me, lol.
The pasting of BlankFieldPlates over single AF is a matter of a while, only about 5  to 6 plates are necessary. Before some time I made it for myself , if anybody wants , the variant of Estonia BFP map is here:

I did not released it before, since I considered the map to be worthy to remake according to Cyberolas style.The same concers the other maps, their rework is the matter of free time, and there is a huge task - Yugoslavia map.

Thank you, Uzin. I have downloaded your revised Estonia. I wondered why a map by Oknevas had appeared which I had never seen before and I knew you had made an Estonia map: the mystery is explained. I am still hoping someone will come up with the easy solution for which I am hoping. Otherwise I will have to put in some time adding plates because your maps cover a crucial part of the eastern front and I use them a lot. I may just change a selection of the airfields.

I think that BlanFieldPlates method is the simplest way, since it is based on the presence of only new objects, while Zuti's friction mod might collide with other mods.

N.B.:
The absence of BFP on Poland 1939 map is another great point to be solved at its reconstruction. Maybe in some future, or anybody willing to do it ?

I used the tbauchot method that Uzin points out when I built the Minsk to Moscow campaign. As he says it is quick and each to do. For that method you do not need the unlocked FMB.

Thanks to you all for your advice. It looks like tbauchot plates are the way ahead. I will try them out and report back.

Edit; I have problems. I have put this mod in #WAW. But then in full mission builder I have been looking in objects/plates and I cannot find the visible blank plates. I can't find them anywhere else either. What I do find in FMB objects are two large green plates 3795 and 3796 'blank field plate' and 'airplate' respectively. These seem to do the job but they are visible in an aggressive green in the game itself when you fly a mission. Are they part of this mod or are they something else? I had rather assumed that the plates would be visible in FMB but not in the game itself.

When I put the tbauchot mod in my mapmaker installation nothing shows up at all in the FMB. The Blank Plates are the usual small ones. My mapmaker is 4.10 so that could be the problem I suppose, but it has worked fine to alter another map for CUP. Also I am suspicious that the mod does not show up in my CUP either so far as I can see. Plainly the mod works, because it worked for you guys, and I am doing something wrong as usual! Anybody able to help me?

In MapBuilder (aka unlocked RMB) you must have file .../MODS/STD/3do/airfield/BlankFieldPlate/skin10.tga FULL of AGGRESIVE GREEN, while in the game, that file of the same name at the same pathway must be EMPTY, TRANSPARENT. Make it sure by GIMP. That is the whole trick. (It took me some while to understand this, I did not believed it is so simple, lol.) The position of BlankFieldPlates on map saves itself in actors.static, when saving the modification of the map you done in MapBuilder. The way to deal with this is surely what Uzin says. I have not yet tried out his formula but it looks very right to me. Meanwhile I have been doing a bit of research of my own and I have found in FMB under 'objects' and in the plates section numbers 4144 and 4145 (in my CUP installation but perhaps not quite the same numbers for everyone) are complete grass airstrips for summer and winter. You put in just one object and get a whole airstrip ready to go, and in realistic dry earth or snow colours. I don't know if you can put this on a map in unlocked version but at least it makes mission building very easy. I am having difficulty with the tbauchot mod which I can only get to show at all in a 4.10 mapmaker installation where it only shows plates in the Kronstadt folder. There is nothing in 'blank plates' or 'fieldplate' except the familiar stock plates. I can use Kronstadt 17 to cover airfields and I have put in the relevant clear skin1o.tga and that is fine so far as it goes. The problem is that it would be much better to use Uzin's method so that the job is done with one method instead of two. Also I believe that CUP already provides the clear skin file needed for his method because I don't see it in #WAW whereas you have to put one in for my method in its own 3do folder. Either I am doing something wrong with the tbauchot mod or its own file tree is wrong. Any ideas?
