FMB unlocked with CUP (WAW17)

Hi guys,

I'm trying to unlock FMB in CUP with WAW17. I've used the JGSME option from Boomer's package (for UP3). However, when launching CUP, it stops loading at 70%. Does anybody have the list of steps to be able to use it with CUP?

There's surely some .ini file editing needed. I've tried to do some but it won't load.

Thanks in advance for the help.

PS: when changing the launcher to ModAct5.3 with the same install, IL2 starts fine.

firs thing to do , is to get us some log info from when it gives the 70% crash (which is usually an incorrect/missing ini entry for a ship or a vehicle...)
i'll help out as i can, but i'm going to be a bit busy from now until at least tomorrow afternoon again, but i'm sure someone will help out in the meanwhie... ;)

I'll post the log file in the evening.

Meanwhile, if anybody has the steps in mind... I have a standard CUP install with WAW up to 17 and no mod.

Hi,

 I have the same problem and same error messages as you with a totally fresh and latest install of CUP and  WAW and then trying to use fmb unlocked in WAW.

After three days of using the logfiles, etc to troubleshoot,  I had to go elsewhere.  I found if you put in the static.ini from the up3 static ini checker, it works with the CUP/WAW FMB unlocked. I have no idea what else it might mess up or omit, but at least it loads without an error and you can use FMB unlocked. The link is listed below.

At the very least, you can use  this working  up3 static.ini as a working base, and then start adding lines to the static.ini to bring it up to the latest CUP/WAW version.

Instructions: Just download and change the name of the static ini file in the download link below. rename it  to static.ini and REPLACE INTO the WAW STD folder where the other static.ini is replacing the existing static.ini. (You should first backup your current static.ini in case of it not working, or to use to add to the  up3 static.ini).

If that doesn't work, try this one. the different static.inis worked for different setups I had depending on what  the weather was outside.

Hi Polo,

I have been making maps in CUP for a while now.
You definitely need a custom static.ini.

I did one for the previous #WAW but I am yet to install #WAW18 and tweak it again. I saw that the static.ini was amended.
There were non-complaint characters or headings/titles missing that caused the game to crash when you start in FMB+ mode.

One thing I did was to re-arrange all entries and sort them in a way that suits me: nothing about Desert of Pacific, delete the stuff that you would not put on a map (like humans), re-arrange everything to have all airfield plates together, all buildings together and so forth. By grouping the objects this way, you have a smaller drop-down to go through as well.

Hi Zoran,

Is there any way you could post your static.ini's?

I have found they are a bear to make for CUP to work with the FMB Unlocked.

I am doing some hardcore work in map_t right now not any FMB+ but I will get to it soon.

Wow! Thanks! It works for me for having the CUP  FMB Unlocked working with lots of extra objects/maps added on compared to the basic UP one I am using.  :)

I also had this error in FMB Unlocked after adding object for the Poland_1944 map:
PlMapActors: Empty group in file 'com/maddox/il2/objects/static.ini'

I coudn't find any solution about it on the forum, but I found what the problem was in my case:

In Static.ini I added this description only for info:
