Relation between C.U.P. and DGen?

After a pause of more than 5 years I managed to install the latest C.U.P. version (The World at War chapter) into IL21946. Everything seems to work fine. Great.

I notice that the DGen.exe version in my 1946 folder is 4.0.0.9 and as such C.U.P. didn't make any changes.
A few questions arise:

1. Will I be able to fly the stock DGen campaigns with C.U.P. and do IL2 4.12.2 and C.U.P. improve these stock campaigns?
2. Is there any benefit to installing the latest modified DGen.exe by Asura, currently modded Dgen version 2.0.3.0 ?
3. Any news of DGen campaigns specifically designed for C.U.P. and Asura's modded DGen?
