You should enable Oil-cooler from Kumpels MS-500, this important feature wasn't
showing up on the Fi156 stock slot Model. This Oil-cooler was Standard on
production Storchs and is not the same as the intial Trop-Filters.
I included a strut Fix. Somehow the Storchs struts are mapped acros the Template,
inducing painted parts of fuselage.
I haven't seen darker painted struts other than blue underside colour,
smeared with hydraulic/oil liquids, respectively you can use my Fix for these Skins.
Struts now appear correctly.
Try if you want.38 historical Skins of LW Storchs in MTO service, of which 10
are from unidentified Unit allocation. All have been photographed or were part in newsweek reels, no semi or profile/artist renditions.
Unknown are marked "Africa", others already listed. They could be from "Kurierstaffel zbV. Afrika", the major Kurier Squad operating for DAK. Or just another unknown unit.
Before someone asks, "MAX" marked Storch is an AIRFIX 1973/75 fictional
Storch coded CB+VD. As usual Profile artists dropped the idea giving it to at least
3 other known Storchs.
So for historical accurancy, no "MAX" here.
Most prominent Storch users in Africa was the Wüstennotstaffel 1, a reknown desert rescue unit, offering help for downed airmen of all nationalities.
Wüstennotstaffel didn't used own Staffel identification lettering, instead it used leaving Stammkennzeichen on their Storchs, thus the Mix.
Formed 8.41 in Benghazi. Main duties was rescue of downed pilots in the African desert.
In 6.43 redesignated Verbindungsstaffel 400.

Only one had RLM 79/78 paintscheme, but usual Swastika. CQ+QE flown by this unit wore
such type of swastika too, the remainder of the units Storchs beared the obsolete flag-style.
2.(H.)/Aufkl.Gr. 14 used black numerals only, like on their Bf110, coloured variants seemed not being popular in this unit.
The units Storchs were initially not in stock, but the tactical warfare in the desert made it essential, along with a Ju52 attached to the unit.
A special Skin is that of Sonderkommando Dora, NO-OI, nicknamed "Adebar der Pistenschleicher".

A unit that served multiple tasks, combined combat and expeditional force.
Similar to the LRDG. Their tasks where cartography, long-range reconnaissance.
One of their Missions sent them as far as Chad/Tibesti to find out about french troops.
A skillfull Taskforce that survived a few skirmishes with Allies in Lybias most remote territories.
Reportedly they flew other inventory as well, their vehicle park was
luxury, for the purpose of undertaking desert trials, support roles, special missions.
A curiosity remain the cartographic/geographical Maps delivered by this unit,
they're the uttermost detailed Maps to be found on some remote parts of Lybia.
Recent Expeditions where able to trace the tracks of the Dora unit, with these Maps as lately as 60 years in the great Desert of Sand. After all they turned out to be exacter than modern counterparts, which lacked profilic terrain/spots or old tracks.

Fi 156C-3/trop TH+AF Kesselrings Storch, the one with a non matching replacement cowling.
This is one of at least three flown by him, the other Wellentarn mottled carried the large badge of FlgB Luftkdo 2 Afrika. The third plain green example was posted to Kesselring in Italy, late 1943, also carried the large badge of FlgB Luftkdo 2 Afrika.
There is no evidence of white wingtips or rudder markings.
In some publications the reproductions are very bad and obviously retouched, tracing a paintscheme out of such pics is sheer fantasy. The brighter rudders are simply steering against sunlight, inducing they were white. Some kites have been photographed from different angles.
A greater percentage of the source pictures are commonly known archival stock and have been reproduced slightly better in more trustworthy publications.
Only one Storch showed up to have Wingtip undersides, but much darker then the white markings in the Balkenkreuz. I strongly suggest it was an ex Eastern Front or Balkan Storch, remaining yellow markings was not unusual. TH+AF's replacement cowling had yellow undersides too.
