Thanks Task!  :)
Kind Regards

Tom
---

WIP Corsairs....a LOT of work.

Canopy reflection (tricky and a mild compromise, as the reflection also works on the gun glass).
3 layers needed...puh. Sadly I am no 3D man, if I was I would assign a dedicated layer for the gun glass and the front glass each and only use the cockpit reflection for the sides and frontal aspect sides.
I need a hero!

News are repainted gauges of manifold and RPM (a few markings added), red night gauges, new canopy reflection.

Well, will take some time to test out. At least another day.

Thanks a lot mate, a lot of work also still ahead on the Corsairs.
 :P ::(
Drives me crazy. Whenever I solve one issue, a new one pops up. :P

Some preview of my upcoming Corsair mod, worked hard on it and am not finished.

Thus this is WIP and object to change.

Will get 3 different canpopy reflection strength optional choices and a minor cockpit panel choice option, same for gauges.

Final version will be less radical, but all reflections are from real Corsairs.

Here is the mod. F4U Corsairs, maybe later I repack the folders for the Corsair FM pack, but you should be able to simply apply these on the FM pack, --but only with careful placing and IIRC a simply override is not possible.

Anyway, this is my pit canopy reflection mod and not a FM mod, but the chaps are free to use or change my mod, or send me a pm with an improvement.

So the aim was to add a feel of gauge and cockpit reflection to the cockpits. Later I also found out how to add a center tint to the front inner glass (Not the gunsight, which is also tackled within the relevant tga.)
Only to then see the Corsair are one of the very few WWII planes with a really dim front armor glass tint...so I opted to make the default here very subtle and ...well, check the readme.-

BTW hey guys, I like classic warbirds up to early 60s, very little connection to modern (war)planes. Boring technology in bad times. That is important to me :P

Later some screens.

PS

Only if you want options for a zero gravity aka zero inner front glass tint: :P

Post script.
There is one option, you will see it when you see it :D, which is rather for fun, the black brighter blueish tinted front and side struts set, that one was rather a joke to me while checking dozens of colour sets.
If you keep the default you are on the safe side...other than that, I recommend trying once the "A Black rusty tuned...funky look very much recommended" (Lol, typical name of my folders) side and top strut colours.
Aim was the canopy reflection, not the rest, and btw the green markings on the lower left gauges are no light bug but added manually and historically. ;)

BTW sorry for typos, if I am not mistaken it still is spelled bluish and not blueish for example.

One request, and not an easy one, ...:
1st: I cannot work on models or extra add-on model layers and can honestly say right now, alias the next 2 years, no time for learning it.

What I would like to do:
I fly jets in IES3, but I would make sure that also works for the jet era:

Add a cockpit canopy reflection tga for the Mig-15/17 and a center front tinted glass on top.

Like e.g. here....at bottom of post, video(s)...

So I need help from a proficient cockpit guy of Jero's or GJE52's calibre. I can add a realistic gauge inprint and finetune the front glass colour, but I need a basic tga to work as reflection and I cannot work this out my own.

I would provide the template cockpits and do all the finetune, but I need help-sorry to say and albeit I know after 2-4 months learning I could work around it, I have no time nor will to do so...my job atm demands 10 hours a day minimum 7 and then I am done.

Cheers

Tom

Will have a small final update on the P-51A, rather sublte add-on: A different mirror shape as alternative along with a few recoloured panels.
You will have the default panel and colours along, all in the main cockpit folder..something to fumble with. ;)
