These are great as are the RAF and Luftwaffe pilots. Is there a USAAF pilot somewhere that I've missed?

Hey Wolf,

I just stumbled across your 3d pilots, they are all absolutely fantastic! I was wondering though if there is a way to add them to other aircraft as the default on top of the ones you already included them with? Specifically, I was hoping to make the USN/USMC pilot model the default for the stock F2A, TBD and Corsair Mk I. I almost always fly the Corsair as a Marine F4U-1 but it has a Royal Navy pilot model as the default and would really like to swap him for your 3d USN/USMC model if possible? Thanks a million for the excellent models and any help you may be able to provide!

Coberrick if no one else puts them in the planes you want it is totally possible to put them in the planes you want yourself.First you need a program that opens up the plane model (I use Sknil,it's a small program that can be found here for free)and some knowledge on how to edit the planes hier HIM file. With these two things you can put almost any modders pilots in any plane you want. ;)

gumpy,

really appreciate the feedback! unfortunately, I'm dumb as a brick when it comes to computer stuff (I'm pretty proud of myself for learning how to even install mods frankly haha)... however, I'm a quick learner if perhaps you or someone else would be willing to give me a quick down and dirty walk through? cause I'm dying to get these guys in all my favorite planes

Thanks for this very useful pilot mod!

At first install (stock 4.13 Modact), the stock pilot seemed to look a little odd and out of proportion, so I did some edits
to the hier.him to resize/reposition the body & head.  Then I had to lower the diffuse value in the mat file due to artifacts
from the resizing.   Afterwards, I changed the face a bit in the pilot tga texture file.
Now it looks a lot better, as can be seen below.

He looks a lot more serious, ready for battle.

These are the parameters I used in the hier.him for the Tom Navy pilot in the F6F-3 and F6F-5 for the screenshots.
[Pilot1_D0]
Attaching 1.1 0 0  0 1.181769 -0.208378   0 0.191013 1.083289  -0.01  0.43315 0.195
[Head1_D0]
Attaching 0 -1.083289 -0.191013  0 0.191013 -1.083289  1.1 0 0    0  0.08  0.70

These are the parameters in the hier.him that can be used for Tom Navy pilot in the F4U-1A/C/D
[Pilot1_D0]
Attaching   1.04 0 0   0 -0.090642 -1.036042   0 1.036042 -0.090642    -0.00287 -0.2  -0.20
[Head1_D0]
Attaching  0 -1.095814 -0.095871   0 0.095871 -1.095814  1.1 0 0      0  0.09   0.64
Then in Pilot1.mat file, diffuse 0.5

sample of stock left and modified right

@cdify. Great job with the placement. Wolffighter made a great model, but the proportions are of a scrawny 10 year old kid.
