Bf 109 1936-39 ?

I have been checking out the Bf 109's 1936 through 1938  VS  the Hurricane of the same years and was wondering if the Hurricane was actually faster then the 109's
of those years.  I can't seem to (with complex engine settings ON)  get much past 290 kph in straight and level & the hurricane just runs & climbs away & loops over and behind
me in a heart beat...
My Google search on 109 fact sheet of those years says the 1936 109 top speed at 460 kph ...maybe in a dive, but I sure can't get that ...

Check at what altitude that top speed is quoted and are you looking as IAS or TAS, 109's don't compare well to Hurri's on the deck. You can bitch slap even a 109E all over the place with a Hurricane on the deck given comparable energy (Of course a smart 109 jockey won't let you catch him on the deck with low E). At altitude or high energy/speed, it's a totally different story.

Nope...5000M  I'm just curious what others are getting for a speed and what they are using for power and rpm settings etc... the rad has to be open or it burns up fast.

I was hopingt perhaps a  "DEV."  might stop by and give some insight into what the settings are suppose to be for a given a/s etc...

Pare you engaging the supercharger. I think in early 109s you need to do this manually at two stages and it makes a big difference

Ha Ha ..I don't even know if the 109's in 1938 even had superchargers, but yes.  I engaged them, but no joy...

I took off and climbed (forever) to 1500m/4900ft and from then on up to 2500m/8200ft & finely gave up trying to climb...
but that ol hurri just kept climbing and going away from me...
oh well, fly something else for a while...ha ha It's fun just messing with different rides to see what's worth playing with.
