I saw the answer given yesterday to Dozey and it sounds good for me as well, so I will try to follow instructions given to him. In case I will be in trouble, I will ask for help again.
Cheers

Got it figured out!  I have iL-2 Jet Age working.  Now I am on to the version 1.2 upgrade!

Skelator

Hello all,

I have il-2 Jet Era V.1 running.  However when I install another aircraft, such as the F9F-2 Panther, I am only able to get it to work as an AI aircraft.  THe sim gives me a memory error when I select the F9F as a flying platform.  I tried loading the F-100D and F-4 Phantom II for version 1.1,  but I get the crash at 70%. I added the ini. and rc. files as per the instructions but I get the crash (again at 70%).  If I delete the ini files for these aircraft, the mod runs fine.  I think there might be a work around for it but I must be doing something wrong.

I have tried to load a clean version of 4.101m with the Modactivator to the latest buttons on it.  Any help with loading Jet Era V1.2 would be great!  Or for loading third party aircraft to V1.1.

Thanks and Check Six

Skelator   do you have   You MUST be running the SAS AI Engines Hotkeys & Carrier mod. Otherwise this pack will NOT work.

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,23327.msg237787.html#msg237787

If you do then please go back to Jet Era Thread and make sure you have read ALL instructions.

Roger that....I could not get those to load either.  Do you think I might have done something wrong when I installed v1.1?  I was wondering if there was a way that I could get the F-100D and the F-8 to load to Jet Era 1.1.  I can get the F9F to show up as a AI, but I get a memory error after the game loads to 100%.

I also followed the directions for the 5, 60 and 70% crash.  I am still getting crashes.  Any help with the v1.1 would be great.  I can get the F-86s and MiGs to fly with no problem.  I will try to load the v1.2 version again and let you know how it goes

Best bet is get up to date, why you guys want to use IL2 without DBW? I dont understand, DBW has all you need/want and you wont have problems like you have other wise. Try DBW if its not for you, then start reading every thread relating to your query from 2009 on. Good Luck with that!

Roger that....I did not know that there was a better option.  I will give DBW a go.

I will let you know how that goes.  I thought that SAS and Modactivator was the best option.  Still kind of new at this!

WILCO,

I will go back and read the info for DBW and Modactivator.  i guess that I just went after the first site that was mentioned in the Jet Era Thread.  I will do a little more research and let you know how it goes!  I should have more time to experiment this weekend.

OKay...I added the F-84G yesterdday to v1.1 and it works great.  It interacts great with the F9F Panthers but I cannot get the Panther to go to full load,  I get the following error.  Any word on how I correct this?  I think I am getting close.

Application Error:  The instruction at "0x2a121147" referenced memory at "0x2clc86e8".

Click on OK to terminate the program

any ideas ?.... I am totally clueless about patching and moding. tried a bit here and there. Ended up with system restore!!.  "probably the only thing on a PC that I am really familar with". Dose anyone out there know if there is a straight foward download or DVD that I can get, to bring "il2 1946 ver 4.07m",up to "dark blue would" ??????? I would be happy to pay for it,  I really dont have the time or the patience to mess about with it, knowing I am not savvy enough to do it myself.
