Update v.4 in the house
Sighted two additional collections from Regia Veterans, one from a 64° Bomber Pilot in AOI 1935-37.
The other collection is that of a 8° Bomber pilot based in Mogadiscio/Somalia 1935-1937.
While the first adds to already existing liveries, the second is very unusual, introducing
8° and 9° sisterunits intermediate after conversion from Ca.101bis to Ca.111.
At the start of WWII both transitioned in favor of Ca.133 to compensate interwar
losses, due to constant colonial policing duties. Another proportion
of pictures from the letter individual point to a more expanded Ro.1 fleet based in Mogadiscio this time over what
we are presented in aviation literature or stato maggiore inventory lists/claims.
Next to Ca.101bis, 9° squadriglie seemed to have operational Ro.1 too, I could make out they used
up to 5 or 6 of these light attack aircraft, distuinguishedly marked in proper Squadron allocation,
before or during transition to Ca.111, later on to Ca.133. This indicates to a weirdo inventory of mixed
aircraft versions both 8° and 9° used to have serviceable in R/L.
