Had to add a bridge to the map so planes work properly.
Yes I know a bridge in Antarctica.
makes for a good target especially with a German supply convoy going over it into the ice cave mercury plant.

For Eugene and any others

Station 211 runways

The short runway closest to the base is only a one plane take off landing strip.

If you use more than one they will crash into objects / mountain.

The large runway is for 4 planes take off and landing is good.

Taking off 4 diagonally from the runway, landing like normal.

Depending on the size of planes I noticed that small aircraft will taxi across to the parking area of the short strip while medium to large planes will taxi down to the end of the runway

You may lose some a1 due to the mountain but they soon learn.

That is just from me pre testing .

as stated in the first post

Hey guys I have a question,
what settings do you have in your game Load file set to in this map?
The "load" file inside this map folder.

In my file I had my settings to...

[WORLDPOS]
CAMOUFLAGE = WINTER
WATER_STATE = LIQUID
MONTH=8
DECLIN = 83
PRESSURE    = 745
TEMPERATURE =  1

but it looks like  I am flying in the dark, almost like a sunset scenario.

What settings do you guys have this set to for a nice flying experience?

I have changed my settings to...

[WORLDPOS]
CAMOUFLAGE = WINTER
WATER_STATE = LIQUID
MONTH=8
DECLIN = 63 <--------------------I changed this value for the sun position, but it is still no good for my eyes
PRESSURE    = 745
TEMPERATURE =  1

max, i haven't made any changes to the load settings, and there is no problem such as you describe. i haven't actually tried a night mission yet, as i generally can't see squat in those conditions, not even enough to be able to take off, but that's not specific to this map.
daytime missions don't seem much different from any other map, from what i've seen....will test some more and report back....

Being a Polar map South pole that is there are not too many maps around.

I initially used the environment conditions from the Svalbard Map
I know this is a North Polar map but hey had to start some where.

I noticed with some months you are in complete darkness (just like the movie 30 days of night).

Feel free to frik around with the environmental's of the map.

My main concern was having water instead of ice for the ocean.

Update this week end.
Including 3 ice (land) strips for use with Operation High Jump. The task force was split up into 3 groups. Testing now.

Update 1 is now available see first post for download link.

3 extra ice (land) strips on the coast.

A major detail texturing work land area.

All mountains have been super detailed with a number of textures used for them hand painted.

I did not like my original funky ice/snow/dirt  pattern trial and re textured all of them with ice or snow super detailing to leave some random textures.

Last update final coast work.

More icebergs and more ice bergs and just maybe some more icebergs also a lineage happening at the edge of Mymap_c.

Hello Kirby!I have a little bug with this map, I did not noticed this before but when I try to take off from the lakes (near Schirmacher Oasis), aircraft floating above the water, and on the horizon you can see the black belt between sky and water.

(VP_Modpack4.12)

Well,
This is embarrassing  :-[
I don't even have this map in my current game install.
I had it in CUP but recently broke all that down to a stock 4,12.2 aiming for BAT.
I haven't looked at this map for quite some time.
The black band I have seen occasionally sometimes in newly maps
This could be a graphics issue or perhaps a missing textures issue.
I recall I leveled those lakes out as I would an airfield and tested the seaplane runways.
Once I download BAT I'll have to have a look at it on my rig.

Cheers
Kirby
