Adding planes to 4.09/UP2
« on: August 19, 2014, 06:55:04 AM »

Call me thick if you like but I'm stumped.

I've been adding planes to my other versions of Il2 no problem at all but how do you do it in 4.09?

I have the DiffFM from another post but where does it go?

Also there is no MODS or such folder - I see there is a Files folder which is similar too the STD folder and has the air.ini there and when I add the plane I get the expected 70% CTD.

And there is an HSFX folder which is also like  the STD folder but when I change the air.ini there it has no effect on the game so I suspect I am barking up the wrong tree there.

I am sure this is perfectly simple but I am not sure where to start.

Thanks in advance

Both my UP2  and 409 ModAct games have a MODS folder, with a STD folder inside.

When you installed the 409 patch, did you later upgrade to UP or install a 409 compatible ModAct?

The Diff_FM mod would go inside the folder named MODS.

You have UP2.01 ? Yes ?
Ok !
Welcome Rebel ! ;)

- erase "HSFX" folder
- Create a "MODS" folder at the root of the game
- (my method ON) create "0UP2" (zero not O) in the MODS folder
- place the Diff_FM file (294ABC86A89FAEB4 ) in the folder "0UP2" (my method OFF)

Example of my "MODS" folder
This is just to give you an idea!
It is not a rule to follow!
But this method works great!  :D
