Plane uses external flightmodel. does not access buttons. Please see post from rkalhorn109, concerning the same issue.

(Edit:  Works great in 4.09, Mod Act 5.30, and The New Full Monty.  For some reason it causes 70% CTD in my DBW 1.71)

Please confirm if this was corrected by using correct flight model in -DBW-410fm.
I have not had any other reports of this.

CW

I've found the -DBW-410fm file inside the RE-2005 folder.  What do I do with this file?  Does it need to be placed inside another subfolder in the directory?

You place it in the Re 2005 main folder, over writing the existing flight model.

1.) Extract to contents of this mod to the "#SAS" folder of your Modact 5.x game.

2.) Open air.ini (in Modact 5 you find this file at "<Your Game Folder>\#SAS\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects\air.ini").
    Add the following line:

RE-2005             air.RE_2005 2                        NOINFO  i01   SUMMER

Please Help!!!

I have the game in the 4.09b version and I've played all the planes modded for the 4.09 version of the game flawlessly. However, I cannot play this great plane, since some strange thing happens. I install the plane in the following order:

a) copy the "RE-2005" folder to the "MODS" folder
b) copy the line below to the air.ini fine

RE-2005             air.RE_2005 2                        NOINFO  i01   SUMMER

c) copy the line below to the plane_ru file
RE-2005             Re.2005, 1943

d) from inside the "-409-412fm" sub-folder, located inside the "RE-2005" folder, I copy and paste the RE2005_FM file into the "RE-2005" folder and overwrite the existing FM file, as well as into the IL-2 Sturmovik Forgotten Battles\Files\gui\game location, where the buttons file and other individual FM files are located

e) I also downloaded and installed the latest SAS buttons 9.7g file

After all this I start the game, which loads flawlessly,

HOWEVER, when I find and select the Re-2005 from the plane list the 3D model of the plane simply does not appear at all!!!

Somehow, the game does not see the 3D model of the plane, what am I doing wrong? What can I do? Please help!!!

Thanks so much for the updates!

Just one note on wing markings of default skin: the blades of "fasci" must be oriented allways to wing tips. Anyway really good work Edlor!  :)
P.s. I've incorrect position for 100 kg bombs (not allinied with bombracks) I'll post a fix, if someone want.

Bye!

Spit,

I have had this issue in other Italian planes. Though the bomb will line up in mine and others games, it will be to high or low in others. Means there was a 3D revision for this bomb in some version of the game.

Sorry CW, my fault... You're right: 3d for italian 50 and 100kgs was changed probably between 4.09 and 4.10, if I remember exactly.

The issue is much more complex:
All the core Il2 bombs have a pivot at (0,0,0) BUT they are positioned so as, when they are aligned along their longitudinal x axis, with their pivot at (0,0,0), the upper border or their body is tangent to a line aligned along the lateral y axis, positioned at z = 0.1585.
This is true for all bombs and clusters - except the bomblets released by clusters which are centered on (0,0,0), no matter their volume.
Rockets are similarly centered on (0,0,0) no matter their volume, and also torpedoes (which is rather stupid but the whole issue of torpedoes in Il2 is rather crude).
Exception - the Italian bombs:
The bombs named bomb-50kg-it and bomb-100kg-it abide by the rule, as any other Il2 core bomb
The bombs named BombIT50Kg, BombIT100Kg, BombIT250Kg, BombIT500Kg, BombIT630Kg are positioned like rockets and torpedoes.
Another exception BTW is the FAB-2000 and FAB-5000 which are also positioned like rockets and torpedoes.

After quite a number of checks I got to the conclusion that when the SM79 was introduced, they needed to address the issue of vertically positioned bombs - but the reason was forgotten due to changes in the teams (1C-Ubi-TD) and we got these Italian 500kg and 630kg positioned as vertical bombs.

For the FAB 2000 and FAB-5000 that were introduced with the Pe-8 - it seems most probable that the issue is a lack of coordination between TD and the Pe-8 modellers
