This map is absolutely magnificent, flying over them does not seem even more Il2Sturmovik, but a new Sim.
Thank you very Cyberolas  ;)

This is a good map. The river port in Stalingrad is included. The stock map doesn't have one.

The stock Stalingrad map  included a lot of mistakes, so this map is most welcome

This remake of the Stalingrad map is a MARVEL. I never before thought about making a Stalingrad campaign, because the map was so BLAND. Not any more. I am really, really tempted to have a go. It's first when you try some of the REALLY nice maps in IL-2 that you understand how much they mean for immersion.  :)

Again: many, many thanks for doing this!  ;D

It is indeed a good looking map. The author has included the city port in Stalingrad/Tsaritsyn. I've set some 47 Squadron, and Russian Civil War missions there already. They transfer from the old map to the new one easily enough.

I do not want to be wrong but this airfield map seems to me a " guess " of the author and not a reliable one.

Why?

1) As far as I know the Pitomnik airfield was composed of a single runway of 1500x30 meters (4921x98 ft) oriented on a suspected axis of 281°-101° ( I write suspected because at today there are no official data about it available from official sources )

2) Looking at the actual Google Maps images ( http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=48.7383,44.2450&spn=0.1,0.1&t=m&q=48.7383,44.2450 ) the disposition of landmarks ( roads, natural features, etc ) seems to be pretty different from the map depicted above ( no match with the real counterpart, it's only an " approximation " due to the game map )

As reference about other airfields in the area check the two links provided below ( Original  Luftwaffe air recon images ). I think you may find them useful for your work ;)

1) https://www.ww2aerialreconstudies.com/stalingrad2.html

2) http://www.wwii-photos-maps.com/aerialphotosstalingrad/Stalingrad/index.html

Last but not least... Horrido!!!
