i dont know what you expect... a lot of lows, some higher, but still flattish terrain...

I hope they work on the terrain.  At this point it's profoundly uninteresting.
You are right about that , but to be fair it is a demo Alpha winter map ...Also remember the first maps Il-2 gave us when it was first introduced? I do remember they were superior to almost anything else we had seen before , but if you look at them now they look pretty spartan compared to what 3rd party map makers have given us at the various mod sites.
 A bit OT but modders over at ATAG have provided several  seasonal variations on the Cliffs of Dover Channel Map,including a very convincing Winter:

This is not one of mine but borrowed because it has a nice quality ( I think)Although I missed it because I was out of town,this week the Alpha got working guns & two 'combat missions to test them .

Whats more manage to get two novise 109 kills with my lagg on a fair dogfight in expert mode, with that little ammo that is good , manage 7 in a 109 vs lagg. But I love the lagg
