Sad they don't make a free demo available. Just one player manned plane and some AI's plus a map would be enough.
It's hard to buy something that you don't know, except for screenshots and vids made by others (excelent, I must said) :-X

thats one of my beefs...
15 years ago they would have posted a demo, you know, to get the userbase rolling.
Now they charge you double price and give you a nametag.
Funny times.

Love what i see.
Hope its an F2, so that an F4 can come later.
and a LaGG with more guns too.

Looks very much like an improved IL-2 ! will be very familiar to the IL-2 players, I think...

The 109 pit look like a modded IL 2 standard with different light and shadow added. Well that can't be wrong can it

Wait a few weeks or more (dunno  :-\ ) and give HistoMod a chance as additional install.  :D

You will get a high definition BF-109 cockpit and mod, not my favourite but very impressive along with all the functions. Wish I had not busted my Beta test install of Histo 6. :(

Carry on gents!  :)

I don't really know why people think the 109 cockpit has somehow low details. It has tons more detail than any modded or unmodded 109 cockpit in 1946 and pretty much same quality as the LaGG-3 cockpit, it's just different design. The LaGG-3 pit has "rounded" impression with recessed gauges on the panel, the 109 pit has extruded gauges that you might not really see from the pilot's default position but if you move about a little, the truth is revealed...

I'm not really sure what you want, that's about as detailed as can be. I also expect that the cockpit would look quite different with the sun higher up in the sky, when there would be more light, more contrast, sharper lighting...

I am refering to pictures, I have been away from my rig in two weeks And the pit looks to me as a modded IL2 pit. And I did not mean that in a bad way :)
I think this must be the best Alpha version in history, atleast it looks like it

Ouch @ alpha channel and tex res, up close its a bit blurry there.
Its more than we need tho... from the cockpit 3D perspective.
Some laGGs in that quality, Stula, IL2 Pe2 T34 and StuG...
eh. whaddya want.

Looking at some of the screen shot threads, some of the images of the aircraft with a wing missing made me think -- they've got glorious snow and lighting, yet they still haven't got any further than IL2 1.0 with the damage. Wings look to be shearing off cleanly in set places with one or two struts added sticking out the side. You'd think they'd've actually moved on....

I really hope they were unfortunate shots, because RoF has shown what can be done, hell, Wings of War, a hilariously arcadey ww1 game had an incredible dynamic damage model that looked the absolute bee's knees (for the time).

A wee bit disappointed on that count.
