The Carriers worn in the sense that they are there and you can run them around the map with FMB.................... but the Cats do not work............... you will have to have someone who knows how to do that for you.  The Catapults.ini does not work in HSFX, which is a pity, out of made HSFX much more friendly for adding ships with Cats. I can actually use the Kingfisher and Iowa in HSFX, it will spawn on the aft end of the ship, but since HSFX does not support angled Cats when the plane spawns it's aligned on ships axes instead of being angled.  The plane will hover in space and then try to take off on cat shot but just fall to the deck. Even with Fireball in our squadron/group, he can't get them to work yet.  Hopefully in HSFX 8 with 4.13.x we may see that.

Cheers

Hi folks,

How do I place stationary aircrafts on a Carrier's deck?

You can't!

Only solution is a shortcut: put flight/s with 0% fuel and radio silence....you have planes on deck but the carrier from this point on is good only for screenshoots or as a target....no flight operation are possible in this condition....only before this situation is possible to have a full working deck....so you can play with spawning times....

a question for ashe, or any other ship builder out there -
i've recently been adding carrier crew to most of the ingame carriers, so far with complete success.
the first problem i've encountered was when trying the same with one of these carriers, USSBoxerCV21_48. and just want to confirm if my suspicions are right -
the ship doesn't appear in the preview window, and the accompanying error log reads as follows:
Code: [Select]
INTERNAL ERROR: Hierarchy: too many nodesis this the polygon limit that i've reached here?
i suspect so, just looking for confirmation that it's not some other issue....
thanks in advance :D

There is a limit to the number of meshes which can be addressed in the hier.him
Possibly you have hit this limit?  --- Not sure.
Can't remember what the limit is either --- around 250 maybe?

You can maybe work around it by disabling some of the minor *.dmg mesh lines  ---- again I am guessing.

Hey mr. Malone! Ranwers carrier crew works without problems. I had the same error when I tried adding Karla`s new crew on top of Ranwers crew. Which crew did you try adding?

hi BOYAN
the first batch i did was the deck crew from Paulus' mod, which i found at FM site, an extension of Ranwers' v5 carrier crew.
i quite easily added this crew to all the carriers in that same group.
i tried adding them to these Long Hull Essex carriers, but was met with this issue immediately.
checking the hier for the BoxerCV_48, i found it seems quite close to the mesh limit already, at 237 meshes.
however, i tried adding just one more mesh, and i get the 'too many nodes' error.
still experimenting..... :D

Had this mod running great in 4.11 MA4 until I added the angled deck Essex pack... now suddenly all these longdecks show up as the stock Essex in the FMB object viewer, and when I load a mission using any of these bad boys, my plane starts off in the water and there is no ship to be seen. Anyone else run into this issue or have any idea how to trouble shoot? Thanks
