I believe the way to launch the plane off the sub is on the first page of that thread. It works great

I managed to install it, finally (thanks to ten010 who gave us the complete set of lines to add in hips.ini file).

Works like a charm ! and I tried with the Ar-196... works perfectly too !

Now, we only miss a few other ships equipped to launch seaplanes like the Ar-196, OS2U, A6M2-N and the others single engined ones, and it could be perfect !

Also, we could have a CAM-ship to use with the Hurricane (Hurricat, should I rather say...) !

Something like this :

What do you guys think about this ?

Gaston, that CAM ship is the one i am hoping most to see.
finally, we could make a proper Johnny Red campaign, and of course, many historical convoy scenarios could be done as well, besides the comic book character, lol :D
imagine you are attacking a seemingly undefended convoy, and suddenly a couple of Hurricanes are launched and proceed to upset your day... :D

It makes me remember that I made a Hurricat campaign, long time ago... when we were playing FB, before AEP 2.04 !

My solution was to put a flying WP at the front extremity of the ship the lowest as possible, and a second one at a few distace with 500 m. altitude, 350 km/h, and it was giving the illusion pretty well !

lol - i remember it, if it's the same one, played it and loved it! :D
so sad to have to ditch the poor plane in the freezing waters afterwards....

I just noticed that with Radge´s version of the IOWA the cat start does not work any longer, the Kingfisher crashes into the ship;
do the knowledgable people here have a fix for that maybe?

EDIT: its not the new Iowas that cause the problem but the new V1.5 Kingfisher; will post my query there :)

This Patch was the only working solution, tried DH and Radges, but no success in DBW.
This one with it's installation routine so far working and excellent. Great immersion.
Thanks for the share and work

I've run into a snag with this.

In the first post in this thread, ten010 says this...

Add the following statement with reference to the Add Catapults.ini.txt.

In the download, he includes this info:

Catapults.ini file.
It is located within the SAS Engine Mod directory under ecom/Maddox/il2/objectsf.

[USSIowaBB61]
dCatapultOffsetX 3.3
dCatapultOffsetY 0.0
dCatapultYaw 14.0
catapultPower     35
bSteamCatapult 1

But there is no Catapluts.ini under com/Maddox/il2/objects

Am I missing something?  Where is the Catapluts.ini?  Am I supposed to add this myself, or does it come with some other download I'm not seeing?

If this matters, I'm using #DBW 4.101.

I scoured everything else in this download and either it isn't there or I missed something (the latter seems likely).

Any help is appreciated.  I'm going crazy with my ignorance.
