I think the instructions on how to use the static.ini checker could be re-written to make them clearer.  ;)

Hello

I was out for a while and now i want to go on with with my map. I need this special FMB++ (I do not know the name anymore ). With this tool (activated with JSGME) i was able to put airfieldplates and arrows into the actors static ini of my map. Does anyone know, where I can download this tool?

Thanks

Great tutorial!

But be careful that you don't make the same mistake I made. Make sure you use the Kevin V.5 tutorial- not the earlier version 4 (unless that is your exact plan). The version V.5 link is not broken- but gives you some error messages. Just keep on clicking through it. I downloaded the version 4 and learned much more than I wanted to!!!!

I had to "improvise" to make the updated Microdem work with old V.4 instructions. I learned a whole lot-but wasted a whole lot of time. Very frustrating.

Trying to use AutoPop...

Made my template on the unlocked FMB and made a static.ini file but...
on the Readme it says, "Use act.jar tool to extract outbuildings.txt from the actors.static you just saved."

I am assuming that the act.jar tool is the Actors Management Tool by Zuti...

I downloaded the Actors Management Tool by Zuti but there is no executable in the downloaded files to start the program.  Am I missing something or am I just ignorant of how it all works?

the file you need to run is called:

Z_ActorsManagement.jar
just click on it.
The file is inside the folder
Z_ActorsManagement.

EDIT:

Besides of Readme, Manual is here:

I double-click the jar icon but I get a message saying "Windows can not open this file".  ::(

Can anyone recommend where to obtain Java for XP?

JRE?, here:
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre7-downloads-1880261.html

You should download: "jre-7u55-windows-i586.exe", that is what I have installed. I have also installed of 64 bit, but I think you do not need it.

Much thanks for your help, Uzin
EDIT:  btw, "jre-7u55-windows-i586.exe" seems to be outdated so I simply downloaded the latest one.

No way to let it work under Win 10 also using the 7u55 Java Version ( 2018, as reference for nowadays users )

EDIT: Got it working in Win 10!

You have to download first the Java 7u45 version ( Check the JAVA ARCHIVE ).

Install Java in a folder named " Java " on your desktop ( not absolutely in the folders " Programs " or " Programs X86 " )

Extract the Z_ActorsManagement files ( Download the files indicated in Reply #18 by Uzin ) in a folder on your desktop. ( Name it " Map Tool " for example )

Once done right click on the Z_ActorsManagement.JAR file, scroll down and select " Chose another program from your computer to open it ".

Then go to the Java folder and open it using the application " javaw " ( Be careful to not select the one named " javaws "!!! )

Click " OK " on all the windows that will appear and that's it... the program should now show up now on your screen!!!

How's the map editor "the last two"?
The last link works for me.
Boomer's map editor link points to a now-closed Ultrapack Forum, but you can find the contents, including working mediafire direct links, on the internet archive:
https://web.archive.org/web/20160310115508/http://ultrapack.tuttovola.org/index.php/topic,1977.0.html
Working direct tool link from that page: https://www.mediafire.com/file/ufnft3p4fbi93vn/UP3_RC4_Map_Editing_Mod.7z/file
