UberDemon working since 2003... remenber the time of my start with IL-2 1.0, was a single cd... Thank you for your update.

True, it's been a while... actually I have been doing this in one way or another since late 1999 to 2000 when I red an article about a Russian development of an upcoming flight simulator called IL-2.

I have always been unhealthily crazy about WW2 aviation, having owned several Bill Gunston books from a young age, when I could not read or understand English (for that matter, books by Enzo Angelucci, when I could not read Italian either...).  When I saw the preview pictures of IL-2 I thought I had to get involved.  I contacted Blue Byte directly (a company in the United States in the town of Austin, state of Texas), which was supposed to publish IL-2 outside of Russia.  This was before UbiSoft bought them.  Somehow I was able to exchange some personal e-mails with Oleg Maddox, and we found that we had similar music taste.  I was fortunate enough to be selected for the IL-2 Beta (I still have the Beta installation disk where we could fly all airplanes, including AI from outside view, and the IAR 80/81s were flyable with a MiG-3 cockpit...)  I was a very dedicated beta tester and because of my previous involvement with Star Wars space simulation modding projects (X-Wing, TIE-Fighter, X-Wing vs. TIE-Fighter and X-Wing Alliance)  Oleg suggested I should develop 3rd party apps for IL-2, so I started developing UQMG.  I thought QMB could use a few more features.

Woah!  I gotta go.

Thanks for the info UberDemon. Is possible to install the current version over DBw 1.7 so I can check some of the features?

I have a question for you. It will be possible to create quick mission starting from the runway, taking off, attacking a ground target or intercepting (or being intercepted) amd get back to base?

In general, good Rock music (particularly good guitar work), anything from Progressive Rock to Hard, to Metal.  When he visited my old site (I am talking circa 1999-2000), I had a "MIDI" track of "Watcher of the Skies" by Genesis, from the "Foxtrot" LP... and literally that is how the conversations started.  Oh and by Genesis I mean the only Genesis there was (Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett, Tony Banks, Mike Rutherford, Phil Collins); the newer stuff was cool, but a Peter Gabriel-less Genesis is as good as a Roger Waters-less Pink Floyd.  And don't get me started on Van Halen...   >:(

Anyway, my taste has evolved... I used to only listen to Hard Rock and Metal... now I also listen to Progressive Metal, Viking Metal, Thrash Metal, Goth Metal... you know... a much more refined taste.   ;D

Anyway, if you want to listen to some good music, go to my tumblr...  http://uberdemon.tumblr.com/ which is called "Heavy Metal Military Aviation Girls"

RealDarko,

The old version of UQMG already has most of what you are asking for, minus all the newer aircraft.  The new version of UQMG will not be out for a long while; like I said I just started working on it... but when it comes out...

(1) each flight group will have the following start options:

" 1 - Runway, clones fly overhead"
" 2 - Runway, clones wave spawn"
" 3 - Runway (all aircraft)"
" 4 - Fly over runway"
" 5 - No. 4 with clone wave spawn"
" 6 - Fly over runway, clones on runway"
" 7 - No. 6 with clone wave spawn"
" 8 - (Default) Air Start at combat zone"
" 9 - No. 8 with clone wave spawn"
"10 - Carrier"
"11 - No. 10 with clone wave spawn"
"12 - Air Start at combat zone, carrier landing"
"13 - No. 12 with clone wave spawn"
"14 - Runway, carrier landing"
"15 - No. 14 with clone wave spawn"
"16 - Carrier, Runway landing"
"17 - No. 16 with clone wave spawn"

(2) A new feature in UQMG is that each flight group will have a defined mission, setup a little different than the old UQMG.  Options are stated below:

"Free-flight/patrol (Default)"
"Attack enemy flight 1"
"Attack enemy flight 2"
"Attack enemy flight 3"
"Attack enemy flight 4"
"Escort friend flight 1"
"Escort friend flight 2"
"Escort friend flight 3"
"Escort friend flight 4"
"Attack Ground/water area"
"Attack Ground/water targets"
"Area suicide attack"
"Target suicide attack"

So I am your club now!  ;D

Was a great fan of Genesis when I was young, loved them for their subtile music.
ie loved such titles as early 'Suppers Ready' or 'the Cinema Show' or 'The Fountain Of Salmacis' etc etc... and was so dissapointed when i saw them the first time live in Vienna .. had a place right before the stage where I waited for Steve Hackett but haven't know that they splitted a few days before  and instead Daryl Stuermer was there .. also a great guitarist (knew him from JLPonty) but hes not Hackett. No Gabriel, no Hackett, no Genesis. :-\

It will be months before there is a release, considering the original UQMG took a few years to develop.  Hybrid setups I am not sure how it will be handled.  I am trying to make easier to handle added mods so in theory yes, it would be supported, but I can't guarantee it yet because I have not use HSFX.  When the UQMG engine is in a working version I'll start tackling the major mod packs.  I am a UltraPack user, so I'll be using that as my initial pack, then I'll add the other ones.  But before I even get to the mod versions I am going to go through all the stock versions up to whatever the latest release is.  Again, think several months before something is released.  (If my life was dedicated to this, yes, much faster, but I work and have a family, so this is really hobby... so several months plus two weeks is an accurate prediction :D  )
