Not quite a plane, but still Plastic!!!
« on: November 25, 2012, 03:43:32 PM »

Spent about 4-5 hours doing finishing this guy off with all the layers and highlights on the cloak and whatnot. Including beer runs and occasional havoc with the slight snow flurries trying to light my pipe.

Nice Dark Angel (or Black Templar) Captain :D not yellow enough for my Space Marine tastes (Imperial Fists); I like the skin, good work with the inks and washes.

"Walk softly and carry a big gun" ..yep, methinks the plasma pistol's powerful enough, even discounting the Chainsword muhuahaha

Dark Angel Sergeant from the Dark Vengance starter set. Good to see a fellow Space Marine player. Rumour is there will be a new DA codex Dec/Jan so getting my arse into gear paint wise.

I say that looks pretty cool. Nice job !  8)
I used to paint WW2 soldier figures way back in the Jurassic-era-1980´s, but I guess times
have evolved to more complicated and extravagante figurines. I never knew the Templar
Knights had this sort of weapons back in the Medieval times   ;D  HeHeHe

Ah, Dan Abnet is to the 41st Millenium as Bernard Cornwell is to the early 1800's with respectively to the Ghosts and Sharpe novels, I have all the Gaunt's Ghosts and 2/3rds of the Heresy books - for me they're cheaper than the models, paints, carry boxes etc.

You'd love Flames of War Max, WW2 tabletop minature (1/144 scale).
I love the background work of the books razor, and with Forgeworld producing the Horus heresy minatures now it'll be awesome, if somewhat expensive.

Very nice paintjob, reminds me to finish my own Tau army some day..

Stopped playing 40k long ago, still a sucker for all the fluff, and still want a displayable army. :)
Flames of War is also highly interesting.
Still, currently all way too expensive for me to even think about.

Small update. Been a while finishing the squad (apart from bases) mainly due to work/general laziness/gaming.

This is actually my first attempt also at highlighting the armour, and damn I'm happy with the result. I'll post more tomorrow, lighting here is kinda meh and the best picture spot is currently taken by a laptop wielding girlfriend on a jobhunt :D

Wow space marines :D :D I used to paint ultramarines, orks and imperial guard. Love white details on the first figure  :) :)
Keep it up!

Cheers
