Just out of curiosity, will this have any weapons installed? Or will it strictly be a racing plane and have no weapons whatsoever? Because, if I am thinking correctly, the F2G was ONLY made to be a race plane and was never deployed into any type of combat. Am I correct?

Anyway, I think it would be awesome to have a version with machine guns, bombs, and rockets just for fun.

Negative, it was designed for the Navy, but the F-8F Bearcat was chosen instead. after making 8 Super Corsairs, Goodyear cancelled production and they were sold off to private individuals.

First the the F8F and now the F2G!!!  Gerd is on a roll!!! I hope his next project is Bill Odom's P-47M!



It actually saw combat... It was considered the "sprint" version of the P-47 and accounted for all the 56th Fighter Groups Me-262 kills.  It was built for speed... Which is why Bill Odom specifically searched for and bought one after the war.

I think a fuel leak caused him to back out of the race.... But it would be cool none the less.

Anyways... I can't wait for the F2G!!! Gerd's work is top notch!

Enjoying already. I can't make out the problem but I do find these to be very nice mods. And while they're supposed to be racers I take it, I am glad you left the armament in the mod.

I had misspelling "Rear" but,  correct spelling is "Rare"  :'(
