Thank you very much for this data.

So a small number of the Erla G-10 had the -A series engines (so, in fact, not so much of a G-10...)

G-14 (with the -AM engine) was terminated (so the 109s with the 'classic' gun bulges) in November 1944. Still, it seems like the vast majority of the produced 109s from Aug 1944 until the end of the war were G-14/AS. Any production figures?

The Erla G-10 used AS engines becouse the DB 605 D had production delays becouse of allied bombing.

Gruppen that used G-14 ~ G-14AS:

III./JG 1
II./JG 2
STAB,I.,II.,III./JG 3
I.,III.,IV./JG 4
STAB,I.,II.,III., IV./JG 5
III./JG 6
II./JG 11
III./JG 26
STAB,I.,II.,III.,IV./JG 27
STAB I.,II.,III.,IV./JG 51
STAB I.,II.,III./JG 52
STAB,I.,II.,III.,IV./JG 53
I.,III./JG 76
STAB,I.,II.,III./JG 77
STAB,I.,III.,IV./JG 300
I.,II.,III.,IV./EJG 1
I./EJG 2
JGr.Nord
JGr.Ost
JGr.West
I./KG(J) 27
II./KG(J) 30
I.,II./KG(J) 55
III./NJG 11
NAG 1
NAG 2
NAG 3
NAG 4
NAG 14

Total number 1373, the last Bf109G-14/AS produced at Cham-Michelsdorf in March 1945. Regensburg production would have been at Waldwerk Hagelstadt "Gauting".

On a side note, the G-14AS had the lowest lost rate (all causes).

Sounding cool so far Ice Eagle/Horrido et al (and friends), 8) may the flight testing continue towards greater/closer representation of realism :)

Just wondering hyperthetically, if for instance when your squadron gets very kow on A/C if you'd might have slightly higher chance of mechanical problems or slightly reduced power/reliability as the ground crew are overworked trying to get damaged A/C upto service strenght? Apologies if this is an wrong idea...
Well its like anything else. But the 'blackmen' took great pride in servicing the planes. But accidents/ failors always happened. Anyways alot of units had more planes then pilots (they had lots of pilots too.. but not all were cleared for combat). There was always a good one to fly.

True say Ice, good factual info you've provided too 8)

Intriguing stats about the loss rate for the G-14AS, suppose the power, smoother airframe/lower-drag, and perhaps issued to better/higher-flight-houred pilots/staffles, along with it having less of itself spread across the front(s) available to be damaged...

Just another wondering, do/might the tall tails (with trimmable rudder tabs, not the self servo tabbed models) be modeled as so ingame at some point? ..untrimmable rudders on the 109 certainly didn't help tired or lower skilled pilots, though I might have got the servo & trim tabs idea/interpretation wrong - not meaning the Schwartzen Herren ground adjusted flight tabs.

I hope so, becouse the rudder has to 'overpowering' movement for 109 when trimming in IL2. A moveable Flettner Rudder tab would allow more fine adjustment, to keep the 'ball' centered. Very hard to do with the ingame 109.

Another thing too, if you look closely at real 109G-series you will notice that the vertical fin is airfoiled, shaped like a wing, with the curved side facing left. This gives a great measure of Yaw stability, counter-acts propeller torque.

Yes but its a minor 3d detail that is really beyond the point of diminishing return.
It's reflected in the FM, where it matters.

I was referring to the airfoil/stability.
Trim, heck I don't know. What speed does she fly straight at?

Ha! At no speed.

edit (14:35:00)

If you adjust the joy settings (deadzones, filters, etc.), you can get the ball centered pretty good. I assign my rudder to 'X-Axis-Rotation'. Seems ok. This is all mind you with my new FM on the G-14AS.

I do mist of my time in the early variants, up through the G-6, and 400kph seems to be stable.

Hey since your tearing into this one thing that has always bothered me is the flap deployment speed.
As is you can go from retracted to landing in a few seconds, where in reality it took closer to 20 seconds for full deployment. Can that be adjusted?

I see nothing like FlapPeriod='xx' for flaps. Maybe try adding that line and see.

yeah probably. And 20 seconds for manual operation of flaps? Also.. not too much know, but both ailerons dropped 2.5 degree when flaps set to 40 degree landing on the real 109G.
