Might sound funny eddie, try hitting the brake button?Dont hold it, just tap it at the start before you start the engine. I normally find that solves the issues sometimes. I've had problems like that before and it has suprised me to be a resolution.

Hey Fresco,
Looks like you're running ModAct 3.06?
As far as I know, the aircraft in the WW1 section are optimized for Ultra-Pack 3 and Dark Blue World 1916.
The 70% crash indicates a clash between something in your .ini files.
It must read: "Nieuport28C1             air.Nieuport28C1 1                            NOINFO  gb01  SUMMER "
Failing that, I suggest downloading and installing the latest version of UP3 and DBW so as to avoid these sorts of errors when flying the new WW1 aircraft.  ;)

had gotten frustrated because i really wanted this plane to be awesome and i couldnt get it to work before
but, came back to this plane and decided to give it another try today...
running modact 3.06
redownloaded the plane, installed, but i pasted the air.ini line you gave me here instead of the .ini that came with the mod(which previously i had assumed were identical)
and now it works! dont know why! but it works!

thanks alotef!
fresco

edit: i suppose the problem could have been with an incomplete download... my pc has been known to do that...

No problems here on take off.
I dont apply any pressure to the stick just a little rudder as she pulls to the left. Start engines at about 30% then quickly up to 100% She lifts her tail and runs along quite happy until enough speed then gently back on the stick and a little lift to the wing as she dips to the left.

Not the problem mate.

I create a small mission, give the aircraft a take off point, put myself in the driving seat and launch the game.

It does not start on the runway but in the air, every time, every map, every combination of settings. No matter what I do I cannot get it to start on the runway.

Here is the last section of my Log file:  Is the clue in there ?

Congrats and thanks, pippin !
After tapping the breakes, I followed your procedure and took off at the first trial !
Nevertheless,  my AI wingman exploded on take off, so I think a bit of fine tuning of FM would be welcome.

Weird - I changed the settings from Easy to Realistic, tried it, still up in the air, set them back to Easy again and now it takes off from the ground just like it should ....

What fun !!!!!!!!!!!!

I took this fine plane out for a spin last night and I must say its great.
Reminds me of the good ole Red Baron days.
I do have a question.
I have the skins in the paint schemes main folder and yet
I cant see any new painted skins. Only default.
I did notice that in the QMB the plane is listed as a Nieuport 28.
The 28C1 does not show could this be the cause?

Thanks for the help.

Fixed-- I placed all WW-1 skins in the MAIN - DBW paint schemes folder and now have the skins show for the N-28C1.
