Great to see that second engine running western0221, superb work, hopefully it won't be too long before we see this beauty with her own slot. 8)

I've managed to find a walk around which gives me an idea of the aircrafts construction, predominantly wood and canvass.  I'm going with wood for the wing leading edge and canvass further back, we'll see how that looks and take it from there.

Quite a few operators of the type: Italy, Brazil, Rumania and Russia, that should keep me out of mischief for a while. :)

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

My goodness. Gone on the road for a few days and all kinds of wonderful, classic planes get posted.

This one is really something else though. So retro and old fashioned ... beautiful lines too.

Talking of the Italian Translatlantic flights in the 1930´s always make me think of the Marx Brothers dressed up as Italian aviators in ´Monkey Business´... I think I have about the same level of competence in flying a plane as they did ... ha ah

Anyway, nice work. Can´t wait to try it out when I get back home ... hopefully by then in an own slot.

Hello all, template progressing now. :)

All the tedious lines and rib detail is now done, hopefully I can move on to the schemes soon. ;)

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Pete!

Great that you are doing this. This aircraft is such a wonderful (and quite unexpected) addition to the game.  8)

Hello all, this is probably as close as I can get for the Spanish aircraft using the info very kindly supplied by juanmalapuente.

Some of it has to be speculative as we don't yet have a photograph showing the upper wing. ;)

Still a few bits and pieces to do, but definately getting there. :)

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

I've finished my works.

Public BETA 2012.07.09 new original slot and FM version...
For 4.11.1m/4.09m - https://www.mediafire.com/?oy663dve4a9dodq
For 4.10.1m - https://www.mediafire.com/?xqk9qpkv31mdb02

NEED DiffFM.

Today's features and TODO lists.
- AroneR_D0.msh 's Pivot needs to be rotated 180 degrees (Now AroneR_D0.msh's moving is strange)
- LODs are not (fps will be low down in far away)
- Collisions and Damage models

I don't know enough...
- Navigation Lights
Today's BETA doesn't have Navigation Lights.
If real S55m had Navigation Lights, please add 3 Hooks on wings in twaeking 3D.

I have no plan about these 3D works.
Anyone else do , please.
I've edited some Hooks in some .msh-s from gio's version.

Thanks, western0221. It flies just fine in 410. I haven't tried it in DBW. I spent the entire weekend experimenting with HSFX and reinstalling DBW. I didn't have much luck modding HSFX. But I might give it another go. I've got fond memories of HSFX 411, and 5. Most of Sunday and today was as follows. Get 1.71 to run. Add mod that worked previously. Crash, No go, ad nauseum. I might have a closer look at UP3.0 with it's modact. It almost always launches. First priority is to add lots of mods to #SAS410. Probably about two weeks work. From memory it's very mod friendly.

chers

All installed and working ok for me in DBW, thank you very much western0221 for giving this beaut her own slot. 8)

To those of you guys who like the skin thank you for the comments, they are much appreciated.

Here is a link to my Mediafire for two versions of it:

https://www.mediafire.com/?dg7v9xdhn9l0g8l

Version 1 has the bands complete across the wings and ailerons.  There is a slight misalignment
which I've tried to match up as best as I can.

Version two has them modified.

The reason for this is clearly illustrated here on the image of the panel finder.

Basically all the brightly coloured bits are the actual skin, the grey parts are from a tga within the mod.

Essentially this bird needs both a skin and the tga, but as you can see for version one of the skin you will be
stuck with the stripes along the ailerons if you change the skin, version two uses a plain tga file just to add the
rib detail and colour, allowing you to change to any skin providing it matches the colour and doesn't have anything
painted on the ailerons. ;)

The download has been set for Western's latest update, just use which you think more appropriate.

If you are still using gio's original mod you will have to add the skin to the MBR-2-AM-34 folder and the file to his mod folder.

Please back up the file S55TGA contained within the mod first before adding my files.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D
