It great how you modders make these odd/unloved aircraft so that people like me get to see them fly for the first time :) Thanks

Well, they are odd and unusual and not very well known perhaps - but from what i can see here on SAS they ARE well loved though ...

Maybe they are not commercial enough for a full fledged flight sim, or maybe corporate businessmen lack a degree of empathy for what they (try to) sell. But I still say the mods here beat all other sims hands down ... businessmen look at opinion polls and marketing studies and always come up with the same old planes and campaigns, time after time ... and time after time the games deserve little more than a polite yawn.

But all the mod planes here ... power to the people I say ... collective inspiration gives great results.

Would there by any chance be a template available for this plane?

Hi, Poltava. You beat me to the draw. You don't by chance have a Balaerics campaign up your sleeve do you?

HI !

Here are few pictures of a Caudron 714 "Cyclone" replica taken this year at Issoire (France) . As long as i know, seems to be the last airworthy ( no reel 714 as survive the battle of France).
Hope that can help you.

I'd rate the performance of this airplane as outstanding, looking at its 460 kph max. level speed, considering it squeezed it out of a 500 HP engine.

One can only wonder about the performance of this bird with a 1000 hp class engine.

Not so much.
Regardless of efficiency thats still only 285mph. Even in 1939 this thing was a cow.
BUT they did get used, so Im all for it!
Wonder how many 303sqn pilots had flown these in france?

Unfortuneately no. Although light and fast, (considering!), its wooden construction did not permit a more powerful engine to be fitted. The original engine seriously limited its climb rate and maneuverability. The Ca-714 was outmatched.
Still an interesting aircraft. Good to have for the Battle of France.  8)

I made another "fast-skin" for this bird too :

(replaced default skin for the test... this one is a tribute to brave polish pilots who fought with french "Armée de l'air" within GC1/145)

Unfortunately, it seems that paintschemes/skins/... doesn't work... do you know what is the problem ?
