The output, and quality of this stellar group is just amazing. Thanks to DreamK and Agracier, and company this community now has a marvelous new window opened to us. Here are scads of new aircraft that, I'd bet, no one would have bet they'd ever see in IL-2. It's a war I'm definitely going to have to pay more attention to. If I had medals to present these guys would get them.

Problems? Maybe a few, but nothing off-putting. I'm sure they'll all be addressed.

Bravo to all involved.

Now let's see what wonders the Mission Makers and Campaign Creators can do with this treasure trove.

I can't wait.

First of all, thank you for all the wonderful planes you made for us. This is exactly what this game needs more - older types somewhat obsolete by WW2 standards but still used in great numbers by many nations so therefore infinitely more important than any of the "paper-waffe" projects people seem to be so excited about.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Now for a little pedanticism:

The Ge-23 Delfin was a Canadian license produced land version of Grumman FF-1 naval fighter. it was a fast attack plane - a fighter and light bomber, aimed at armed reconnaissamce and penetration - the first of the "Intruders" .

Nope, the CCF Goblin (as G23 was officially known in Canada) was actually a version of Grumman SF-1, not FF-1.

FF-1 was a single-seat fighter, SF-1 was a two-seat "scout" ie armed reconnaissance.

Add a carrier hook to this and you got an USN SF-1. Delete the gunner-observer position too and it's FF-1.

Well, I also though so BUT it appears that the original FF-1 was indeed a two-seater fighter (in the fashion of the period) and the museum example at the US Navy Air museum at Pensacola is definetively stated as FF-1 "The museum's 'FF-1' is actually an export version of the aircraft designated the G-23 built by Canadian Car & Foundry under rights acquired from Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation. It was the sole example purchased by the Nicaraguan government, one of three different aircraft procured to form the basis of that nation's air force."
The SF-1 was a scout version, quite similar but with a different engine and different fuel loads and radio equipment suited to its scouting task.

There are so many new aircraft that I have difficulty copying with the pace of all the new planes that I see everyday appearing in this section. It's impossible to download them and install all of them properly. I am returning back home and I really have no time to look at them all. That's the best compliment I hope I can give to you for all your excellent work.

Hi, PA_Asís. It would be good for people doing carrier training missions, or 1930s campaigns.

cheers

Question: Does the canopy open on this bird? Can't tell from the screen shots. Looks fantastic!
