hi guys, great plane and unfortunately not skinnable.. it's -well..- difficult, can't say more hehehe :D

but a great archievement nevertheless! thank you!

my only concern is about power management: in ROF camel has throttle, mixture, and blip switch so i wonder if is modeled another engine (Clerget and Bentley has standard controls, only Gnome Monosoupape has cylynder switch IIRC)

S! and angain thank you to the team! :)

A1_Phoenix: Thanks for the info. I've pulled up a few websites and books which describe the differences between the Camel engines. If people are interested, I can look into make some additional slots (e.g. we already have a Clerget, maybe Le Rhone, Gnome and a RNAS 2F1 with Bentley).

The only thing that may be difficult to model is the use of throttle on some of these machines. Unlike more modern carburettors which keep very fine control over mixture/throttle, you had to have the throttle/mixture perfectly matched on these rotaries otherwise they would cut out.

The Clerget, Le Rhone and BR1 had throttles, although reducing power involved simultaneously adjusting the mixture and was not straightforward, so it became common during landing to "blip" the engine (turn the ignition off and on) using a control column-mounted ignition switch, the blip switch, to reduce power.
In the end, the pilots opted for the same old system, blip switch. ;)

Thanks SAS~Anto. Using the mags, and I for throttle control is certainly a challenge.

cheers

Anto,

Thank you very much for setting up the M4T link. I had no problem downloading the Camel. I've installed it and was able to complete my first flight without crashing it.

I congratulate the Aviator Mod Team on the technical experise and creative energy they put into bringing the Sopwith Camel to life in IL-2 :).

Cheers,

Riptide
