I actually mean that could you give a tutorial for using layers when editing F-4 helmet because I encountered problems with that. Of course I can edit it just like Mig helmet but I also want add those little details in my own made helmet (circkled with red)

...Let's say you put your name on the F-4 helmet.  In game, when you zoom in to observe, it looks great from one side, but from the otherside your name is backward.
my solution to the F-4 helmet problem is pretty simple.
for pilot name, don't put it on the helmet, but rather on the visor.
works great, imho. ;)

@ Malone, that IS the solution! . . . However, that pilot's face looks like a chick in that image, ROFL....

@Hangman, You might try this. . .  using GIMP
1.  Take the original F-4 helmet image, the TGA file, save it as a gif file.
2.  Create a new image the same size of the Helmet image with a transparent background.
3.  Copy the original helmet image (GIF file) and paste it into the new image (with transparent BG).  Save this file.
Work will now always take place on the image created in step 3.
4.  Using the magic wand tool, click on any area you want to erase. It should start to "shimmer".  Press the delete key and the shimmering areas should turn to an "alpha layer".  Continue this process until the only thing remaining is the stuff you want on your template.  Save your file.

I think that you get you what you want.  Let me know how that works for you.  If that proves unsatisfactory, I will have to consider releasing a version 2 ............
