Airfix Dogfight doubles help
« on: June 06, 2012, 01:13:36 PM »

Today I purchased an Airfix dogfight doubles set, that of a Bf-110C-2 and Spitfire MkIA
I'm having trouble because the 110 has come with bombs 900 liter and 300 liter tanks
what should I slap on if I slap anything on?

During Bob, the 110 was still considered a fighter, so tanks would be more apropriate (D was the first true ground-attack version).
What tanks depends of where the fight took place (how much range would it need)...
best to find photo of that particular machine and see

I´ve read the 900l tanks where used in the MTO when they were patrolling the Mediterranian searching for convoys, the tanks gave them much increased range. They may have used them in Norway too but I´m not sure of that.

No Battle of Britian era Bf110 used 300 or 900 litre tanks

I agree Phas3e but weren´t the MkIa shipped overseas after beeing expelled over GB? If so they´d meet C-2s in other theatres, huh?
