1:32 Hawker Hurricane Mk1 (Pacific Coast Models kit)
« on: April 26, 2012, 02:43:40 PM »

Hi Folks, I just realised that SAS has a modelling forum! This is my most recent build: 1:32 scale Pacific Coast Models Hawker Hurricane Mk1 'Battle of Britain

Hurricane Mk1, N2359, YB*J, flown by P/O Stevens, 17Sqn Debden. This aircraft served with the unit between 6th June and 25th August 1940, when it was passed on to No6 OTU. Unusually for RAF fighters of this period, many in this unit had colourful artwork, one of the best examples being the famous 'winged Popeye'.

Additions to the kit: 50 piece (thats right...) Sutton Q harness, sighting bar on cowling, gunsight glass, rebuilt castoring tailwheel, cockpit wiring/equipment, nav light bulbs, canopy handles, dorsal ident light, aftermarket decals for YB*J, heavy weathering using oils and weathering pigments.

Construction details:

I tryed this, the gluing is unbelivable sticky and get all other places than it shoud. and the painting , well first of all cant get that color I want second it just do not get on the right place.
So I bought me a similar Corgi Hurrycane costing a fortune so HA....
And my paint on that one isnt wethering, because I have a home it can live in HA!

Anyway, that is truly art  :)
