Sorry, I've just put together the sounds that I downloaded from his videos. I was unaware of those issues/conflicts. Yes in the .prs file you should probably rename them so that they use the correct files. The whistling sound is not individual to each aircraft and I believe is the same for all, so you will hear it on all aircraft at a certain speed, I hear mine quite regularly, but I don't fly the F4U much so I'm not sure. Also the gun sounds I know are sometimes quite low for some reason, but it's just the way I found them. However on my side the German guns sound fine, it's the british guns which are sounding a bit soft. Also I think I did remove the gun sounds from this pack as they were way too low, so check and see if there are actually guns in here. Possibly the Mk108 but I don't remember anything else being in here.

Roger that m8 ;D

In jafa's pack found here. The R2800's prs also points to the R2600's samples, but I think that might be OK 'cause there is no R2800's samples there. I think every P&W engines get to be 1 step down in jafa's.

I'll try installing the whistle again today, will update ya with the result.  :D

EDIT: Tested, work for me, but the whistle won't be very clear in F1 view. Have you tried external yet?

Raptor, as I already wrote I'm very happy with this sound collection, so thanks again! ;)
As for the whistlin' death Corsair, I've tried in all possible way to hear that (F1, F2, F3, full prop, no prop, radiators open and closed, diving at 800 kmh...) but I cannot distinguish it, but I increased my success percentages of deck landings in the meantime!... Maybe as you said, the engine sound is way to loud and covers the whistling completely: btw I believe the whistling sound is the sample PrattWhitney_2800_2702.wav originally not included in Raptor pack; in the prs we read:

[sample.PrattWhitney_2800_2702.wav]
infinite 1
env      8
controls rpm

[sample.PrattWhitney_2800_2702.wav.rpm]
minlo 2600
minhi 2700
maxlo 6000
maxhi 6500
value 6.0
pmin  -1.0
pmax  2700

[sample.xPrattWhitney_2800_2702.wav]
infinite 1
env      0 2
controls speed

[sample.xPrattWhitney_2800_2702.wav.speed]
minlo 40
minhi 150
maxlo 500
maxhi 610
value 7.0
pmin  -1.0
pmax  220

I need to study it more closely... Ah, sorry for this OT: after all it's not so important anyway.

Hello Gentlemen,

Could anyone of you Mods Pro advice me on how to use a sound mod with the excellent SAS modenabler? Or at least if it is possible ;D?

Thanks, and of course thank you very much for all the great work you did for IL2... All this is VERY MUCH appreciated! :)

It should be possible. Open your Mods folder and inside it make a new folder; you can call it anything you want :P In the folder, copy and past the samples and presets files from the sound mod.
That should be it! It worked for me.

Will this sound-pack work with 2.01?

I have Tiger's sound Mod for HSFX but would really like to try JAFA's sound-mod for 2.01.

Is it straightforward, or are there issues?

I'd really like to try Jafa's Sound Mod in HSFX 5.01 too....is it possible?

Cheers, MP

I agree !
IMO the external engine sounds in HSFX 5.0.1 are awful...

I installed this into my HSFX 5 and it works great. I like the sounds better with the exeption of the weapons volume .You can't hardly hear them from inside the plane . Does anyone know a fix for the weapons volume ? :) :-\
