I also heard the starting of Hellcat and Corsair engines, as well as the distinct sound of a loading 16 inch cannon

Basic shape of the mast. I overdid the cable wires a bit, will make them less thick.

Also some details on front part of ship.

Now I will turn to photos to further improve the Superstructure, especially the rear part which is still WIP.

(Off topic: I wish there was a Blender script to make all normals face 1 direction and one that would actually work well. I have to search for plugins the one in the release is very basic and flipping the faces by hand is not exactly "fun")

Hey guys just want to tell you this is not abandoned or frozen, I just have to pass Materials exam + Thermal Engines so it will appear frozen for a maximum of 1.5 weeks.

Researching photos I found out that some areas in my bridge were quite wrong. I corrected the shape once more so the errors are gone now.

Also added few more details.

Very soon I'll add the last details like small ladders, bars, anchors and the cranes and then I'll be ready to start texture work.

Tweaked the bridge and superstructure to eliminate last flaws.

Namely the triangular shape above the bridge does nto sit on top of the top of the bridge now and also added 2 small platforms and 2 sec gun platforms that were missing.

Now texture work begins. With a bit of luck this will nto hold so many surprises as the making of the rest of this model had.

Basic texture for the deck containing only the colour without any further work.
I chose the colours from USN colour pallete.

Also showing some details on nose.

Note: the bars are WIP. When it's time I will make them as Asheshouse told me a while ago.

Ok this is preview of the finalized hull texture.

Unfortunately Blender's not good at all internal rendering makes most of the weathering effects + the rust almost invisible. ::)
You will see them if you look close though.

Hope you guys like it, now it's time for the tricky part , superstructure texture.
