This'll really bust a cap in your ass.

Say, any news on the pit or DM?

Why isn't spent cartridge case ejection modelled in the J7W1?

I can't find any references as to where the ejection ports may have been positioned - maybe the spent cases were collected in a bag to prevent them bouncing off the propeller blades or getting sucked into the air intakes.

I did think that the cannons were possibly an after thought, and a bit rushed, as the first model was unarmed the same as the real prototype, even the gun sight wasn't included...

I'm not complaining because I'd rather have this model than not at all but there doesn't appear to be a landing light and the navigation lights are not completed (there is a gap in the wing tips where they should be but possibly this is how the prototype was)?

No steam of spent brass?

I'm not sure if the original would have had ejection ports  - I've never seen an illustration that shows them

Late versions of the raiden used the type 5 30mm autocannon and had ejection ports

HS P75
« Reply #62 on: September 08, 2010, 02:48:06 PM »

If anyone here is interested, I have been working on converting Kodama's J7W1 into a German Henschel P-75. This is my first major attempt at any sort of mod, besides what I helped with on CK and messing around with 3ds (which failed miserably). I have done the following work to it so far:

-Mesh editing to remove 2 rear stabilizers on the wings, replacing it with a single larger one under the fuselage (still needs to be larger, might need to get a donor part, but I am considering options about this)

-Mesh editing of forward stabilizers, moving them forward and sweeping their angle to match HS P75

-Working counter rotating prop

-I gave the HS P75 its own slot, and editted the weapons to German weapons

-It has its own FM, in which the counter rotating props void out almost all torque effect (as they are meant to do)

-It is currently using the J7W1's 6 bladed prop, but I am working on the 3 bladed version that would have been on the HS P75

I have sent Kodama a PM asking for his permission to post this in a work in progress thread. I'll be waiting to hear back from him. Kodama if you are reading this, please PM me. Till then a little pic, tips or advice are welcome.

Awesome stuff James, great work!
I'm quite confident that Kodama will allow you to proceed on this, it's kind of accolate for a modder if his work is valued good enough to even become base of new mods :D

Best regards - Mike

Thanks Mike (for comments and your invaluable help) and Cirx. Just a small update. Kodama has given me permission to post the Henschel P-75 as a WIP, so in the next day or 2 I will start that thread and have some better pictures as I progress.

Regards
