Nakajima Ki-44 Cockpit Repaint
« on: February 11, 2012, 12:52:28 AM »

Nakajima Ki-44 Cockpit Repaint

This is a small adaptation of Tyrl's beautiful Ki-43 cockpit repaint for use with JapanCat's Ki-44 Shoki.
All credit for the original textures goes to Tyrl. Thank you, Tyrl! :)
This mod also works well with the 6DOF mod.

Directions for DBW / UP3 installation:

For UP3.0 / DBW simply extract the files to your mods folder:
For UP3.0 = ..\#UP#\
For DBW = ..\#DBW\

That's it!

Enjoy! ;)

A little tip for people that don't want to aim through the scope... Use the "6DOF Normalmouse by PAL" mod to raise your point of view.
Aim just above the scope for a perfect hit. This works great during dogfights. I can also recommend using the Ki-44-II Hei (4x50cal guns) for dogfighting:

Thanks for this! Could this cockpit works in 409?

Yes. You need to do the following to get it to work in 4.09m:

1) First backup your original ki-44 cockpit directory, since we're going to overwrite some files.
2) Extract the archive to a temp directory.
3) Go to the directory 00_Ki-44_Cockpit\3do\Cockpit\Ki-44II-ko\
4) Delete the file gauge.mat
5) Copy all other files (excluding the deleted gauge.mat file) to your original Ki-44 cockpit directory overwriting the original files: MODS\Ki-44\3do\Cockpit\Ki-44II-ko\  (First make a backup of your original cockpit directory)

That's it!

I have 4.101 and SAS modact 3.06. I tried this cockpit for the Ki-44 in the link below, but can't get it to work. Am I doing anything wrong?

I put it in the a/c's 3DO folder in place of the original cockpit and also tried it as a stand-alone mod in my #SAS folder.

Did you keep those cockpit files that aren't overwritten in their original directory, or did you delete them?

I put a minus in front of the original cockpit folder.

You can do the following if you don't have DBW / UP3:

1) First backup your original ki-44 cockpit directory, since we're going to overwrite some files.
2) Extract the archive to a temp directory.
3) Go to the directory 00_Ki-44_Cockpit\3do\Cockpit\Ki-44II-ko\
4) Delete the file gauge.mat
5) Copy all other files (excluding the deleted gauge.mat file) to your original Ki-44 cockpit directory overwriting the original files: MODS\Ki-44\3do\Cockpit\Ki-44II-ko\  (First make a backup of your original cockpit directory)

I've tested this and it works on 4.09m as well.  ;)
