Have you installed the right folder in #DBW?
After extracting the download folder structure is Battle-Sounds-v2.0_Download/Battle-Sounds-v2.0_Download/Battle_Sounds_v2
The last folder should be dropped in #DBW.
After starting up the game you will notice immediately if it works or not.  By selecting 'Single Missions', 'Pilot Career' etc the clicking sound is different.

Cool mod. Especially with a lot of ground activity going on.
The Booom is more like BOOOM!  8)
