Caio Duilio Battleship of Andrea Doria Class of the Regia Marina

One of two. Other in class was Andrea Doria.
They were both extensively modernised prior to WWII.



Commissioned:    13 June 1916
Decommissioned: 1956

Checked with SAS ModActivator for HSFX5
Note: In older modpacks, like UP2, ensure that the text inserts are done in the [Ships] section, not the [ShipPack] section.

This installation includes a full set of class files for previous ShipAshe models: Warspite, TribalPack, JClassPack, Fiji.
The class files may overwrite previous versions but should not overwrite subsequent models.
It is not necessary to have the previous models installed.

The following instructions are included in a text file in the model folder.

In Classic Modded setups (HSFX5) the game is installed to root/MODS.
In SASModAct or UP3 setups refer to the ModPack instructions

Extract the Caio Duilio model folder to root/Mods/ShipAshe/3do/ships -- same locations as previous ShipAshe models.
If you have earlier ShipAshe models installed then the class files will be overwritten. Allow this to occur.
It is not obligatory to have the earlier models installed.
This pack includes class files for: TribalClassPack, JClassPack, Warspite, Fiji
After creating the RMCaioDuilio folder, before editing any ini files, confirm that the game still starts ok.

To setup the ship model text edits are required in ship.ini, chief.ini, stationary.ini and technics_ru.properties as follows:
In HSFX5 insert the text immediately below Littorio in the [Ships} section.
In other mod packs insert the text in the [Ships] section, not in the [ShipPack] section.
In these cases it will not be below Littorio since in older installs, like UP2, Littorio is in the [ShipPack] section.

Very nice work! Works great in 409! :)  :)
But I have a small problem with all of your ships (except the Jupiter and the Cossack apparently).
In the file "log.lst" I found about 900 alarms of the type:
[20:13:40]   WARNING: Clear IBuf 319119
[20:13:41]   WARNING: Clear VBuf 130988

They are possibly affect the game speed (UP2.01) ?

Maybe due to issues with the shadow meshes.

These were fixed for HSFX5

Fiji should also be ok.

Do the shadows flicker on some ships?

The 4 "DD/Tribal Class" have all the shadows that flicker.
The 4 "DD/J Class" have half shadows that flicker.
The Warspite and Caio Duilio seem to be correct.
However, at the moment, just by going to the FMB without playing the game... 1130 alarms!  :-[

I'm getting a 70% CTD during loading the game.
I run IL-2 4.09m and UP 2.1
I had the same case in 409 (UP2.01).
In chief.ini, do not copy the lines in the tab [ShipPack] (containing the Littorio) but in the tab [Ships] !

Epervier -- What will be needed to fix your problem with the J Class and Tribal Class models is some new msh files. The latest ones, which work properly, are in SFS files in HSFX5. These will need to be extracted. If I get some time to look at it I will see if I can sort it out.
