Does anyone else's game crash when spotting enemies with jets and how can I fix it, it's pretty game breaking. :(

I just spent ages installing it and it works, but nor properly. ::(

I just spent ages installing it and it works, but nor properly. ::(

Too less information for us to understand / decide what trouble is occurring in your PC , and advise you how to solve it.


If too much / non-compatible (wrong version or something) mods were installed and mixed, too hard to recover.
Preparing a new game folder from stock clean 4.12.2m and installing one by one checking ModAct5.3 --- Engine MOD 2.8.3w --- JetEra 1.33 --- Jet patches ..... will be easier and shorter time.

I have all of the requirements listed above, but when you say jet patches what do you mean, I haven't seen any patches. I also have the VP modpack. Anyway literally as soon as any pilots engage each other the whole game CTDs with a message saying that the application has crashed and that it is reporting the problem to Windows.

So it turns out I narrowed it down to the SAS engine mod which messes with the game causing the game to CTD when AIs engage targets. Any ideas?

As I wrote clearly, mixing non-compatible mods makes such CTD.
We have not been given information from you.

The aircraft name, such as F-86A5 shows up, but the window that is supposed to show what the aircraft looks like stays blank or remains on what plane you were on last. When you try to fly it (such as the F-86) the "fly" button doesn't do anything and the "arming" button also doesn't work. This only happens with the JetWar aircraft.

I have to say : that mod got on my nerves.

I am new to modding. I run IL2 '46 4.12.2m with ModAct 5.3 and I have followed the instructions to a T by writing them and checking. It kept on crashing at 5%. I wish it was available as an auto installer. (Am I a cheater ? Don't think so ! 8) :P )

Got question; what is NB in the 4.12 installation or where can it be found. i only seeeee std  and air.ini to add theeeeeee jets. forgive as its been a while

Installation for 4.12.2m ONLY:
1) Make sure you are running ModAct 5.3 on Il-2 4.12.2m
2) Make sure you meet the game requirements listed above
3) Extract content to your Il-2 directory
4) Then please copy the SFS archives from SAS_SFS to SFS_AUTO folder. By doing this, there is no need to touch the RC file
5) Add the latest Hotfix (if any)
6) Add the aircraft lines below NB: If you are new to modding, please read the following guides:

7) If you wish to add the static aircraft, please use the stationary and technics entries AFTER backing up your .inis

When I play with IL2 1956 aircraft,when I choose Aim-9 as weapon loadout the game crashes at 30% with il2fb.exe error while loading the mission.Apart from this loadout choice the game and the IL2 1956 aircrafts run without any problems.
