I think that term will be very misunderstood, rather make it (soft)rock or poprock at most.
But that's just in my opinion as a metalhead.  ???

Considering what a ham he is I have to give him credit for re-inventing himself over time and not taking himself too seriously

I remeber stories from my parents and vauge recollections of him singing badly in the 80's replay of him in the 60's-70's.
I don't think he has much left to loose after all those groupies grew up, never got a reply and so sued him, and it won't be that heavy, well not death-metal, but he could go as far as sof lead.

Ok here's a strange fan made/recorded Metalised cover of Beds Are Burning, yes, a Metalised Midnioght Oil. IMHO, its not that bad once you listen to it twice, starts abit shakey, then gets into it.


Shattner, he might be this good with Garbage, but unless he's been a lifelong Secret Metalist, he'll flop quicker than floppy thing going flop in a room full of 'satisfied' trekky fans - no offence meant to trekkies, jus statin' ma self.
